💚🦉💚 Please welcome Mr. Mark Davis to GREEN Spartanburg! We are happy to have him joining us as our STEM Teacher for the 24-25 school year. He brings with him years of experience and science knowledge, as well as eagerness to get started in this role!

A Message from Mr. Davis:

My name is Mark Davis and I am excited to be joining GREEN this year! I have been a science teacher for five years, teaching 9th grade science for 4 years, as well as having the opportunity to serve upper elementary and middle grades students in a therapeutic environment for the past year. I received my bachelor’s degree in science education through Western Carolina University and earned my Master’s in Education (Project Based Learning) from USC Upstate.

I'm from Forest City, North Carolina, a small town about 15 minutes north of Chesnee across the state line. My wife, Becca, and I are both teachers and have been together since high school. We got married in December of 2018 and this past March welcomed our beautiful son, Thorin, into the world. We also have three dogs (Choji, Elvis, and Luna) and a cat (Freyja). When I'm not in the classroom, my hands are always busy. Whether it's building models, playing tabletop games with friends, or getting crafty with my 3D Printer, I'm always working on something.

I'm excited for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the teachers, scholars, and families of GREEN! 💚

A Message from Mrs. Rossie:

Hey everyone! This will be my 3rd year at GREEN and I absolutely love this school, the kids, and the amazing staff!

I graduated last Spring (2023) with Honors from Greenville Technical College with an Associate's in Business Management, a Certificate in Applied Science in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship, and a Certificate in Applied Science in Human Resources. In addition, I will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Business and Leadership this December from North Greenville University that will correlate with my other degrees!
In my free time, I enjoy painting, sketching, DIY tasks, and resin crafts. I love reading books as well. I am recently married, have two pitbulls who are like my kiddos, and have guardianship of my teenage sister who will be in 8th grade this coming year at GREEN as well! Lastly, a fun fact about me is that I love cars, and used to work in a mechanic shop doing regular maintenance on cars when I first started college!
I have always loved school, and I love being a part of this team! I hope to make a difference in the development of the young creative minds here at GREEN and try to help wherever I can! 💚

💚🦉💚 Meet another one of our amazing teacher assistants to our special education team... Mrs. Shannon Strickland-Furman!

A Message from Mrs. Furman:

My name is Shannon Furman and I am so grateful and excited to be a part of Spartanburg Team GREEN again this year!! From the minute I walked in, I was embraced as part of the family and hope to spend many years here at the Spartanburg campus.
I’m originally from North Carolina where I had been part of a small home-town school for about 14 years before moving to SC. I love working one on one with students and watching their growth over the years. I enjoy being able to connect with them, empower them in their learning and be a part of their accomplishments.
Outside of school, my passion is to explore and travel and I am always up for something new! My favorite places to visit are out west(Co & Wy) and anywhere with water! I find the water and waves bring me peace and relaxation and the older I get, the more I enjoy that. I love everything that comes with exploring, like finding a unique item or trying something new. I love being a beach bum while visiting my daughter in Fl., boating, atv-ing and shopping in quaint small towns. I am a passionate animal lover and enjoy traveling with my “boys”, Aspen, our black mini-doodle and River, our special needs rescue dog.
Although I enjoy all of those things, my heart is fullest when all four of my girls are together!
I am excited about the new school year and look forward to seeing all the students!
💚

Ms. Foster started with us as an "as needed" sub, but quickly found herself in the position of "long term sub" for 4th grade math and science. It didn't take long for us to realize that Ms. Foster was meant to stay and teach her students for the entirety of the school year. Her success in that position led to her being asked to stay and teach 4th grade math and science for the upcoming school year. Thank you, Ms. Foster, for jumping right in where you were needed and pouring your all into our students!

A Message from Ms. Foster:

My name is Kelsey Foster and I am very excited to be returning to GREEN as the 4th Grade Math and Science teacher!
