Hub City Church
We want you be be a part of our church family. See you Sunday. Hub City Church is a group of people. It's not building. It's not an hour on Sunday morning.
It's not someplace you go. Hub City Church is a family. None of us are perfect. To be honest, we're all messed up. But we know that God loves us, sent his son to die on the cross for us, and invites us to surrender our lives to him. So we're trying to live surrendered lives. We want to hear God speak so that we can do what he says. And we want to bring as many other people along with us on this jo
Pick one or more of these verses to memorize and meditate on this week to remind you that God says to you, I love you. - God
1 John 4:7–8
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:16
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 3:16
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Love is doing what’s best for another no matter what it costs you.
We're having a picnic this Sunday following worship at Croft State Park (here's the link to directions). It's a "bring your own lunch event," so grab something on your way there or bring a picnic lunch to worship. We will be eating at picnic shelter 2 near Lake Craig. Enter through the main entrance until you reach the attendant booth. Tell the host you're with the Hub City Church group. You won't have to pay at the booth to either because the church is taking care of that. There's a parking lot beside the shelter. Feel free to bring lawn games and anything to make the event more fun. I'm looking forward to picnicking with everyone!
A prayer for Haiti:
Psalms 9:18-20..for the needy are not permanently ignored, the hopes of the oppressed are not forever dashed. Rise up, LORD! Don't let men be defiant! May the nations be judged in your presence! Terrify them, LORD! Let the nations know they are mere mortals!

One way we can partner with the Holy Spirit and with our brothers and sisters in Haiti is through prayer. Pray that God will move swiftly to show compassion and love to those who are oppressed and in need.

Here's the little six-week experiment that we embarked on this past Sunday. We're testing to see if consistent practice of these five habits will help us become more like Jesus. And if you didn't yet fill out the pre-study survey, do that today. And if you have no idea what all this is about, then listen to this past Sunday's sermon.

For the next six week we are going to incorporate silence and solitude, prayer, engaging Scripture for transformation, rest, and intentional relationship in our daily rhythms and then assess our growth.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PARTICIPATING!!!
