Hmlloyd Mercantile LLC
This is the new official HMLLOYD MERCANTILE LLC business page, where you can see the latest updates.
I am so happy to say that I will be in the latest issue of magazine tinyStudio. I spent a bunch of time fretting about getting this article in tip top shape for Suzy, and I am so happy to share my accomplishment. I have to give a warm shout out to Suzy at FiberyGoodness for her help with the editing and making it look so good.
This article is about my journey through traditional hands in yarn into the world of Art Yarns and how having and has had a profound effect on that journey. I wanted to bring this perspective so that others can see a glimpse of how having can have a wide ranging impact while giving a light hearted feel.
Let me know if you get the chance to read this issue of the magazine and which article really spoke to you! I can't wait to read all of the articles, there are so many talented fiber artists showcased in this issue!
Well Wishes.
Decided today was a drawing day and not a spinning day!
Have a wonderful rest of your week and I hope you're taking care of yourselves.

One of the newest 3 ply yarns I made last week. Boy did it take a while, a whole week in fact. This skein comes in at about 90 grams and a whopping 281 yards. I'm proud of this one since I don't normally have the patience to do larger projects. So enjoy the fruits of my labors.
We're not done yet with our craft fair yarn reveal!
This Saturday (March 9th, 2024) we will be at the CV here in with our soaps, lotions, and yarns. If you can't make it we do have a website with everything we carry currently listed.
Hopefully we will see you at the fair if you are local, and can send you goodies if you are not!
Well Wishes and have a wonderful rest of your week!
Well, would you look at that. I'm getting ready for our first craft fair of the year and I do not plan to disappoint my customers.
52 skeins fit on our newly made and makeshift yarn display. I could put more on, but um ... I don't have any more large skeins - I just have the little ones!
In our next post I'll show you a few more skeins were bringing with us. But, don't forget that you can get these on the website before we sell them at the craft fair - before they get sold for good. (I'm still making more though!)
Well Wishes to you all and have a wonderful week.
Ta Da! I've been working on some new for the Craft Fair on March 9th.
This one is colorway in a style spin. I've done two skeins so far that will be available for purchase.
I cannot get enough of these new styles! I love a and this is just a cable yarns cousin. It reminds me of movie style braids and for some reason
Let me know if you'll be in town and heading to our booth in just over a week!
Well Wishes
Come and meet the Unicorn! This is my latest art spin and I am really proud of it - even if it gave me some grief.
I am loving making art yarns - so if you have any suggestions on what kind of spin you want to see next, just let me know and I'll try and make it!
Well Wishes!
Hello Everyone!

I hope you all enjoy - this was a nice learning experience with and
Well Wishes to everyone and a happy weekend.
For the last few days I have been cutting up and deconstructing some of my old yarns to turn into roving again! I'm trying out spinning techniques and I needed some extra fluff to work with before I use the and boy is it a long process.
So, if you see someone make yarn from scraps, just remember that it takes a long time to deconstruct all that yarn and get it looking that good!
Well Wishes and I hope to have pictures of the scrap spin soon!
I've been a busy bee, working on transforming some Pina Colada roving into art batts for spinning. I never know what I'm going to make next, so it's a little hard to plan any reels or videos - I'm a rebel like that!
This set of batts have been turned into a trio of skeins that are each just a little different. They will be available in the shop and I'll be taking them to the in March. If you're local I hope to see you there CV craft fair.
Otherwise, you can catch my yarns online or our soaps!
Well Wishes.
We've got more in Coconut Cream Paradise!
I ran out of Coconut Cream fragrance oil, so I had to add Coconut Paradise to it and they smell wonderful, but not overpowering! I love these for the portability and that they don't need extra preservatives.
These are now in stock in and on the website at:

Here is a bit of the behind the scenes on how these were made.
For the I had made a soap paste using the and to make the liquid soap I just added the and water and let it turn into gel.
Almost the same happens for the liquid bar soap - except we made the then let it cure, shredded it, and combine with water in the crock pot.
It's a long process for both, but they sure do make some nice hand soaps.

I finally was able to make a proper cabled yarn, it looks so
This yarn took WAY more twist than I was expecting and now I have a better idea of how to make that POPS!
This is made from fiber ordered from and it is their Ice and Fire merino blend. It's a bit more course than I am comfortable with, but it produced such a wonderfully colored yarn.
I am proud of this yarn!

Loving what you do is important, but you can hate it sometimes too. Those are natural things when you pursue everyday things and when you
I enjoy making - things! I like the process of making , discovering what it will turn out like, what I can mold it into. I love the process of about new things.
That being said, my wheel is not set up for these fancy , but it still made them. However, I hated it! Yup, I admit it - I hated making this yarn. But did it turn out in the end, yes! But to make this yarn again, I require different tools.
Is there a thing you hate doing that you could love if you just had the right tools? What's your difficult project that could turn out great, even if you dislike the process? What keeps you from enjoying your passion?
