Once upon a time in a land not so very far from where you and I sit today, there lived a woman whose quest for magic consumed her mind and soul. Her body however was not free to embark on such an ambitious quest, so she spent many a long hour yearning for a voyage that was not to be. As a child she imagined great things to come, and all the excitement within that hope was enough to sustain her in those early years. Alas, youth is not forever, and the rigors of maturity filled her days with weighty responsibilities that often seemed neither magical nor even inspired. And yet — still she wonders. Happy Earth Day! Add a little beauty where you live. I adore a full moon. And inexplicably, I feel adored BY a full moon! Who is to tell me it’s not true when I stand beneath her, swathed in her generous luminosity? You may tell me I cannot know this to be true, and I will reply that you don’t know for a fact it is untrue. I am not alone in thinking that planets and moons and stars are more than their chemical recipes, and relationships between us all are better described by quantum magic. So tonight we have Haida, Ice Moon. Pretty, isn’t she? Cheers to all who dance a bit, sing a little, write a good thought. I like that I share this moon with my people.
