Twilight Chinchillas
I have always been an animal lover. My hobby enables me to stay home and be the full time caregiver Hand painted, artistic one of a kind pieces.
We make wood furniture and quality toys for chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small animals.
Hi guys, hope you have all had a great summer. Hard to believe we are half way into August! I got some wood coins in recently. Still debating on reopening for the fall, or just doing premades, Halloween toys.
I've enjoyed my somewhat of a break. Catching up on home repairs, and responsibilities of being a Mom.
I've been crafting a bit. Something I never had time for. Would you guys like me to only share chin stuff on here? Or mix it up? I shared some of my projects aka therapy. Most of my precious moments can be found on my other page Darling Moments of Horror
I'll have a contest over there once I reach 300.
I don't know if people would be interested in my other arts and craft adventures, so made a page just for my altered precious moments. Darling Moments of Horror
Here is a recent piece I have listed.
Made after my favorite movie, Bram Stokers Dracula.
Hi guys. Sorry for being mia.
Been focusing on family, I didn't get around to premades as planned. I've been a little selfish with my time this year. So many things get put aside, and I didn't realize how desperately I needed to focus on me. I have started new crafts. Which I'm enjoying so very much! I will be restocking on wood, but no date set, for premade toys. I'll make an announcement only when I have a few orders made.
So back to my new hobby, Precious moments! I'm really new at this, haven't worked with clays before, once I'm good enough, I may offer some for sale. I hope everyone has a great weekend, I'll try to not be a stranger.
Some cute goodies for everyone!
Made some cute human goodies! In the store. Very limited quantity on most. If there is interest, I will make more.
UPDATE
I contacted my supplier whom I've been using exclusively for my banqna leaf balls, they checked their stock, I further inspected mine, have not detected anymore issues. Everything looks good on both ends. I think this hopefully will be the only bad experience we will have with quality control. (Knock on wood)
Hi everyone, I believe in 100% transparency.
For Easter I had a customer order Easter toys, and added 3 of our coconut toys. They have a banana leaf ball for the center.
I've only ordered this product from 2 sources that I trust, using one main source for 4 years now. So imagine my shock this am when I get a picture, and it has newspaper stuffed in the center.
I've been restocking, but my brain is mush, so now I don't recall if I used older inventory, or new, or from whom it came from as I buy in bulk, and don't order it often.
I know many have been taught in recent years that all paper is bad, which I personally dont believe, as someone's who's been selling toys for over 15 years. It's what type you use that matters.
It's always obvious when you see a toy I make, if it has a paper product on it, be it bagels, cupcake wrappers or a tiny bit of crinkle paper.
I know of 2 rescues, as well as other long time vendors who offer some sort of paper product.
But I also respect the choice by some to have no paper whatsoever. I know you are doing what you believe is best for your babies.
This particular toy never should have had paper. I haven't ever had had feedback to know whether this has happened before.
I'm upset for my customer, and a bit peeved on my end, for this even happening.
In the end the responsibility falls on me, and I did refund them on the toys. Lesson learned, from here on out, I check incoming product regardless of where it comes from.
Now I sit with a bin of banana leaf balls, which I've cut 1 open, no paper, but I'm paranoid there is a chance of more.
So if this is a product you purchase online, keep an eye out. 😭
Hey guys, been hit again by spammers. For the record, this is the ONLY kind of SPAM I approve of, with a side of rice, kimchee, and eggs.
I do not endorse, nor give permission for anyone to share links of groups or other pages on this account.
If you see such, please do not click on the link or communicate with them. Stay safe! I try to report every one of them, but FB doesn't do anything.
Thank you all for your support and kind words. It's nice to be surrounded by those who understand, but more than anything, care. 💕
Goodbyes are never easy, so instead I'll say, until I see you again. Rest in love baby girl 💔
Hoppy Easter everyone!
Congratulations to the following winners
Rebecca Schmitt
Lauren Steven's, Sydney Holmes, and because the kid is in charge, and added an extra winner, Rachel Reynolds 👏
Having kids comes with benefits, I didn't have to make the hard choice, as I loved them all!!
It's National Chinchilla day ya'll!
Share your chinnies! I'll have the big guy pick out his 3 favorites, and send you each, one of our new toy to try out! We'll announce the lucky 3 winners Monday. 😊
Hi guys, just a reminder that my store is not currently open for orders. I'm offering mainly premades this year. I'll take on some commissions for furniture in mid to late April, but spots will be limited. As mentioned before, my focus is recharging, and taking care of my big guy, and his needs. 🥰
Thank you for all the orders! I printed off a few labels last night, I'm currently boxing up more orders, and getting them ready to head out. I might need an extra day or two on some orders.
I had a few big ones.
You got this girl working. Lol
I went to bed at 3 am, up at 7 and I'm back at it. 🙃
Thank you again! Once I'm done, I might work on another theme for April. Ladybugs, butterflies or birds?
🐞 🦋 🐦
Tomorrow is last day to order. I'm cutting off orders for Easter toys tomorrow at 5.
Happy 9th Birthday to my "Baby Z" aka Zola.
How's your day going? First bin is over filled, second bin is half way full, and I'm maybe half way done. First batch of toys head out this weekend. Then more on Monday.
Daddy is back home from his trip. My kiddo is over the moon, and currently humming away, so I'm making a lot of progress.
Thank you all, for your business 🌷 🐰 ❤️ 🐹
All invoice have been sent out. Thank you so much for your orders! I'll be accepting orders until Sunday.
You can add toys from my website, with the Easter stuff, but toys will be made as they are ordered. For those inquiring, I am not going to fully open this year. I will accept commissions on furniture here and there, but not until the weather warms up. I will also offer toy packages when I have time.
A close family member is in failing health, and my grandma is going to be 100 this year. I want to spend as much time as I can with family.
As most know I came close to losing my husband last summer. Luckily fate was on his side, but he was still injured pretty badly, and his injuries have not fully healed.
Time is precious, it's something I have to savor.
As a caregiver for my son, I'm also taking care of me. I found a new hobby making wreaths! Maybe if I'm good enough at it, I can share with you all. 😊
I've tried to keep my prices low, but cost of my supplies have increased, and I have to pay myself for my time... apologies

St Patrick's day packages head out tomorrow.
I had wanted to get my Easter selection out sooner, but will post over the weekend. Please, be patient.
My focus will be PEEP themed, with some variation of bunnies, chicks.
Packages may need to be made as they are ordered. My husband had to make an unexpected flight to see a family member who is doing poorly. So I'm running this ship solo, until his return. As those familar with autism know, change is hard. My big guy is a daddy's boy. He is already having some separation anxiety. 😥
I don't usually share personal things on my page...but someone rubbed me the wrong way. They were disrespectful, and rude. It wasn't simply correcting me, it was a deliberate jab.
As some know I've had health issues in the past. Cancer, relapse, then a transplant, to be specific. It resulted in cognitive issues, where I don't process things.
Add in taking care of a disabled child 24/7, it's no wonder I can form a sentence on a good day. ( I love him but he doesn't sleep lol)
If you follow me, you may see mistakes, grammar, wording, or whatever my brain decides works, on my posts. Believe me when I say, no one is harder on me, than me.
If you want to correct me, either be nice about it, or message me.
I will no longer look the other way when you disrespect me. I will block you from my page.
Treat others how you want to be treated.
Just a friendly reminder. Tomorrow is last day to order. ☘️

Hi guys, feeling bad that I didn't get to Valentines this year.
This year I'm considering doing preorders vs making a bunch of toys, and having excess leftovers.
I'll be replicating packages from prior years. Easter is in March. So I better start planning now.
How many of you would be interested?
Well 2024 is off to a bumpy start.
We had to take one of our kitties to vet for emergency. He had a UTI and crystals. Luckily he's on the mend, but will be on a special diet for life.
My husband was in another accident this week, his work truck was hit from behind by a snow plow. Other than a black eye, thankfully he's ok!
My big guy was on a really good run of some amazing days, but he had what I call a reset. Took out his monitor, keyboard, speakers.
He's still struggling some, but on the rebound, hope we arent looking at another med change.
Despite the beginning, it could be worse, I have a roof over my head, hot meals, and know it will get better.
I started working again on my last 2 orders from 2023, so appreciative of the 2 customers who said to take my time, enjoy, and not stress.
I may try to make up some premade toy bundles to offer the end of month. If I do Valentines, it will be simplified. I'm going to see how the next coming week goes before I commit to anything.
Peace out, stay warm, and be safe out there!✌️
Happy New Year everyone!
Thank you to all whom have supported me in 2023, not just by your business, but those who have taken time to share kind words, and encouragement.
I hope 2024 bring happiness, and good health to you all, and your fur babies.
Much love,
Christine
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Are we all ready and prepared for the arrival of Santa Paws?
I am enjoying all the photos being shared! 💕
As this year is coming to an end, I want to personally thank everyone for their business, and support this year.
As most know, it's been a difficult year. Family loss, my husbands accident, the needs of my son, that come before all else.
Next year I will not be reopening and taking on orders
I'm focusing on family next year, and myself. I have felt empty for awhile now, and I can't fill the cups of others if I don't replenish, and refill! That means as difficult as it is, putting myself first for next year.
I've been a vendor in the chinchilla community for approx.15 years now. Its a very time consuming job, long hours, and nights. I'm not getting younger, my kids are now all grown adults.
As for many, I've had to pinch pennies this year. There was times where the store was dead,. The rising cost of goods has not helped small businesses like mine. I made the decision last summer to become a paid caregiver for my autistic son. That means I have more financial freedom to take an extended break.
The plan is to offer premade packages on occasion if there is demand. Holidays are always the most enjoyable for me. Valentines, Easter, etc.
I might occasionally offer a spot for furniture once it warms up.
So we will see how 2024 treats me!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
You are all the best!
