Jen shares a couple of cervical stretches with us that are great options to relieve tightness in the neck, scalene’s, or upper trap’s.
Recommended frequency for optimal results:

This is your reminder to get up! If you’ve been a prolonged sitter, you’ll want to try these exercises to alleviate any back pain or posture issues from prolonged sitting. Prolong sitting can increase risk of poor posture, which can lead to pain in our lower backs. Jeff, owner & DPT of Tailwind Physical Therapy, helps walk us through some exercises for our lumbar spine. After sitting for an hour get up and rotate through these exercises for proper posture, strengthening in our back & to get your blood moving. Movement at any age is important! Here’s our tip of the week: A fitness / therapy tip from Jen Payton this morning! Do this move 👉🏻 Prone Single Leg Rainbow w/ Pelvic Hook for glute and hip imbalance. This can stem from a weakness on one side compared to your dominate side. . Here’s what you’ll need: resistance band and small inflatable ball or folded up pillow. Here’s what to do: 1. Secure band around ankles (can place around knees for modification if needed.) 2. Place ball or pillow under weaker, less dominate hip as you take position in elbow plank. 3. Drop knee of opposite hip to floor to modify plank, and fully straighten and activate leg that's extending from side the ball is under. 4. Press hip into ball to activate core and glute as you slowly move in a rainbow arc moving with acting leg and hip. Be sure to keep knee straight & quad active. 5. Keep hip pressed into ball through highest point of movement for complete glute and pelvic core activation. Make sure to Avoid rounding through upper back and shifting hips unevenly.
