Part-Time (approx 32+ hours a week) Dental Assistant (Lower South Hill)
Our office is looking for a part-time experienced dental assistant. You must have at least six months-1 years of dental experience. As a dental assistant, you will need to support and assist the dentist with patient care. It is essential to be flexible, friendly, have a "can do" personality, work in a timely fashion and work well with children. Must be a non-smoker.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Understand and demonstrate proper sterilization, biohazard, and infection control procedures in compliance with the protocol.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of dental terminology.
• Perform all chairside procedures efficiently.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental instruments and proper tray setups.
• Properly take X-rays
• Efficiently direct patient flow through teamwork and communication.
• Responsible for stocking treatment areas and dental-related facility inventory.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental treatment equipment maintenance procedures.
• Patient/staff rapport -- positively contribution to office/organization.
• Demonstrate cost-effective techniques when utilizing supplies and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma
• Certified in an Accredited Dental Assisting Program
• Demonstrated ability to assume Dental Assistant responsibilities.
• Current Dental Assistant license
• Current CPR Certification
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of dental records and documentation.
• Ability to perform essential computer functions.
• Comply with protocols and standards.
• Exercise knowledge of dental instruments and terminology.
