Merry Christmas from GLR Engineers!

Check out these construction pictures showing the progress of the ASU WRAP project in Tempe, Arizona. GLR worked with K.T. Fabrication to provide structural design for all of the elements comprising the wall system. The ‘pyramid’ shaped walls consist of ACM panels supported by tube steel space trusses that are then attached to aluminum mullions which span 16-20ft between floors and are anchored to the concrete structure.

In case you haven’t heard yet, the old Pullman Dissmores’s IGA store is going through a complete overhaul and some extensive remodeling to become a Rosauers Supermarket! The project is coming along nicely, and it’s supposed to be complete and open for business in October of 2023. GLR has provided structural design for the single-story CMU and wood addition to the front of the existing building, as well as the interior remodel. Shout out to URM Stores, Bernardo Wills, Leone & Keeble and the rest of the team. Go Cougs!

What a difference a year makes! GLR's Polaris at Eastgate project located in Bellevue, WA has made a tremendous amount of progress over the past year. The second 5-story wood-framed tower will be finished soon! It's been a pleasure to collaborate with Inland Group and Olson Projects on this large affordable housing project.

GLR is excited to see Silvey Construction start construction on the Prairie & Ramsey office building in Hayden, Idaho. We have enjoyed collaborating with Uptic Studios on this 20,000 SF wood-framed structure.

Currently in construction, New Health is a 21,000 SF Medical Office Building located in Colville, WA. The primary structural system consists of steel framing, but also utilizes Cross-Laminated-Timber (CLT) panels for the floor and roof of the structure. Driven by long lead times and material availability issues, GLR collaborated with the design team of ALSC Architects and Baker Construction to determine an alternate solution to traditional concrete on metal deck. CLT panels provided by Vaagen Timbers were chosen to help keep the project on schedule. We can’t wait to see how they look!

The second pour for the first elevated PT slab is all wrapped up at the Riverstone Lofts project in Couer d’Alene! Now onwards and upwards to the next concrete level! Everett Concrete and Ginno Construction are doing an amazing job! GLR worked with Architects West to provide structural engineering for this great project.
