The Jundt Art Museum is saddened to learn of the death of Faith Ringgold this past Saturday at the age of 93. We have always been proud to have one of her prints in our collection (on display): “The Sunflower’s Quilting Bee at Arles,” 1997; Silkscreen on paper; Jundt Art Museum, Gonzaga University; Museum purchase 2010.2. Ringgold fashioned the image heavy with text celebrating eight powerful African American women.

Come see our new featured exhibition, the Inland Northwest Modern Quilt Juried Exhibition in our Arcade Gallery, as well as displays from local artists in the museum’s main entrance. We have a complicated deinstallation/installation show change upcoming, and we will be closing from Sunday, May 14 until Friday evening, June 2.
Come see “Facing Fire” before it leaves view on Saturday, May 13.
