York County, PA : July 9, 2024
This today and tomorrow will reach temperatures into the 90's, with some "feels like" temps in the triple digits.. Older adults are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses and more apt to be alone during times of crisis. Because of this, The York County Area Agency on Aging is encouraging everyone to check in on your older neighbors or family members during this heat wave. We would also ask everyone to stay inside and avoid the heat as much as possible. For those who lose power or are not able to escape the heat, there are cooling shelters available throughout the county.

Our Public Works department will be putting up Veteran Banners on Thursday, May 16, 2024. There will be no parking on S Main St and no parking on N Main St between Constitution Ave and Jackson St.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation.
In a township in South Central PA last week, Republic Services had a resident approach one of their trucks to throw something in the compactor area while our driver was operating the remote mechanical arm to empty the residents cart.
We cannot stress how dangerous this was and we need to express in the most serious way possible that this cannot happen for many reasons with resident safety being the most important. This is especially important to tell your children since school will soon be on summer break.
DO NOT APPROACH A TRUCK THAT IS IN THE ACT OF DUMPING THE CONTAINER INTO THE COMPACTION AREA.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GET THE OPERATORS ATTENTION WHILE THEY ARE OPERATING THE COMPACTION MECHANISM OR THE ARM THAT DUMPS THE CARTS
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO THROW ITEMS INTO THE COMPACTION AREA OF THE TRUCK
The last thing Republic Services or the municipality wants is for a resident to be injured or potentially killed in the process of Republic collecting a residents trash or recycling materials.
Thank you for your attention to this very serious safety concern.

The Borough of Spring Grove has recently acquired the 6.7-acre greenspace lot at the end of College Avenue, adjacent to the Spring Grove School District Administration Building, through generous grants offered by the DCNR of the State of Pennsylvania. We have ambitious plans to utilize this space for recreation purposes for Borough residents.
The Borough Office would like to get direct feedback from residents on the best way to utilize this greenspace. Please keep in mind that the funding we received from DCNR requires that we keep this land as recreational greenspace. We cannot build any non-recreational structures or businesses.
Please take the time to answer the following questions and add comments to supplement your thoughts.
