Eyes are unique to each individual. Everyone is beautiful—let us help you express your inner beauty!

A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, Dr. Sharon Adhami has worked in Spring Hill and other Middle TN cities since 2005. She previously worked as an independent contractor optometrist within Christopher Optical in Spring Hill, which closed on November 30, 2021. As of December 1, 2021, Dr. Adhami began making many positive changes in her own practice in the same

Said goodbye today to one of the most hard-working, gentle souls, Max Westmoreland. He was our current president and long-time member of the Spring Hill Lions Club and one of my preschool vision screening buddies. We had many talks about our families and Spring Hill’s growth. Undoubtedly because of his easy-going nature, Max touched many, many lives. May you rest in peace, my friend. Thank you, Sir, for your service to our community as well as our country.

Just like that, summer will be gone in a flash! Get the kids ready for school with an eye exam and glasses!

Remember that eye health is not necessarily related to vision. We recommend eye health exams at least every 1-2 years even if you see well.

Eclipse tips for Monday, April 8th— (beginning at 12:43 pm, max at 2:02 pm, end at 3:19 pm)

☀️Never look directly at the sun during a solar eclipse, not even for a split second! Even if a sliver of the sun is exposed, it can cause a crescent shaped burn on the retina, tissue that lines the back of the eyes that gives your vision. Effects can be cumulative.

☀️Make sure eclipse glasses are ISO certified with the ISO 12312-2 marking. Sunglasses do NOT provide enough protection. With your body facing the sun while looking down, put eclipse glasses on. When securely on face, then look up at the sun.

☀️Remember, eclipse glasses can only be taken off to look at a solar eclipse when totality occurs. However, in our area, 93.6% of the sun will be covered so it will NOT be safe to remove your glasses.

We will be closed tomorrow, on Good Friday. Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Added the pics of our new flowers from (next to Lowe’s in Spring Hill) because they are a beautiful addition and we love them! 🥰 I love Jen and Tiffany’s shop because of its uniqueness and you won’t find another shop around like it in our area. If you haven’t checked it out, please do! Beware though, once you’re there, it’s hard to resist buying something because everything is sooo pretty. 😊

Did you know that common diabetic/weight loss medications, Wegovy (FDA approved for weight loss), Ozempic (approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes), and others MAY affect your eyes and vision? They can temporarily make diabetic retinopathy and macular edema due to diabetes worse while blood sugar is adjusting, thus causing blurry vision. A study showed that 2-3% of patients had worsening diabetic eye disease, but the results are not fully conclusive, however. Dry eyes, intraocular pressure changes, and the formation of cataracts may also be possible.

Voluntary recall for eye ointments due to concerns about sterility… (Brassica Pharma)

Photos from Reflections Eyecare's post 03/01/2024

Yesterday marked an important milestone…These ancient relics were born way way before 2010, when I started as an independent contractor in the optician-owned optical before we became Reflections Eyecare. The focus back then was on the optical and less on the patient. Fast forward to December 1st of 2021 when Reflections was born. Since we began our optometrist-owned practice, our priority has been on patient care as a whole (head to toe because your eyes are connected to the rest of your body) and not necessarily the aesthetic aspects of our practice, with the exception of softening our look quite drastically. At the time, equipment was initially purchased to enhance how we perform eye exams, to help diagnose disease, monitor, and treat earlier and more accurately, and to replace other really old/broken equipment.

We chose not to replace the chair and stand early on. Why? Because they worked and it did not affect the quality of patient care in the practice. Priority had to be made on equipment purchases because overhead in an optometric practice is unbelievably high with the cost of technology! The chair and stand were ancient, but they were reliable…until the foot pedal broke, the seat tore, and the toe kick didn’t work consistently. The chair had uneven armrests and the stand had an empty pill bottle stuck in one of the instrument wells. They were 2 of the largest (and heaviest!) items of what was left of the old practice.

Yesterday was time to say goodbye to our old friends! We are grateful we were able to use them because they got us to where we are today! (And they gave us fun and frustrating memories!)

At Reflections Eyecare, we strive to help people understand their eye conditions and eyewear choices by being as thorough as possible because so many have been misinformed. When you get a prescription and glasses with us, we make measurements that are customized and precise, and we’ll explain what options you have in your lenses. We stand by the quality of our frames and lenses and that’s why they come with a warranty. We sincerely enjoy our interactions with patients and enjoy what we do! That is an experience you can’t get with an online or virtual exam or when you purchase glasses online.
