2 PM Monday Update: We continue to expect severe thunderstorms in Middle Tennessee on Tuesday. All types of severe weather are possible.

* Tornadoes, possibly strong
* Damaging wind gusts over 60 mph
* Large hail

Timing for greatest severe risk: 1 PM to 8 PM CDT. This is a wide window of time because there could be multiple clusters of storms through the afternoon and into the evening. We may have a better idea on exact timing for specific areas tomorrow morning, but for now we should all plan to keep our guard up for several hours.

The storms will develop and move quickly, so be prepared to act immediately if warnings are issued for your location. Now is the time to prepare. Know exactly where you will go and what to do if storms threaten your location.

The afternoon commute in Nashville and surrounding area may be impacted by storms. Be aware and consider adjusting your schedule if possible.

We are a little late posting, but last month we had the honor of hosting a local Girl Scout troop for a tour. We were able to teach this amazing group of girls what it’s like to be a 911 dispatcher, what to expect if they ever have to call 911, and some of the tools we use to do our jobs. It was a privilege to have them come and learn about 911. Hopefully we were able to give some of them a future career goal!

Today is an end of an era in Orlinda. As dispatchers, you recognize voices on the other side of the radio but they often don’t get faces to go with those voices, but that is not the case here because of their involvement over the years. “1400” and “1401” are two voices we could always count on hearing at all times of the day and night, and those belonged to Chief Dusty Johnson and his wife, Assistant Chief Nancy Johnson. There is no possible way to count the gallons of water hauled, the fires extinguished, the cars cut up, or the number of lives saved by these two individuals over the years. The time, dedication, and love put into the City of Orlinda throughout the years will never be forgotten, and Orlinda will never be the same.
Robertson County 911 would like to wish these two amazing people a happy retirement! Your voices will be greatly missed on the radio, and your service will undoubtedly be missed by the community. Thank you for all you have done over the years. Enjoy your retirement!
