As we continue to honor Italian women during International Women’s Month- today we honor the Liquori sisters of Anna Daniele and Alfonsina Liquori.

These two women have been the bulwark for our community, giving a place for our community to gather and to be together. They have given their time, money, and talent for the promotion of our Italian culture and our holy Catholic faith. We use the term “friend” very flippantly in today’s world, but these two sisters redefine what true friendship is through their generosity, never expecting or desiring acknowledgment. We are blessed to have them in our Italian community. It’s no exaggeration to say that there would be no real Italian community here in the South End without them. Grazie Infinite!
