For those of you who have only known our company as OWN (or by our former name Anderson Engineering) you might be surprised to learn that this month marks our 70th Anniversary. In that time we have expanded our services to include civil and structural engineering, surveying and field services.

Over the years, the tools of the trade have changed but our commitment to excellence has not. Our employee-owners continue to deliver engineering, surveying, and field services solutions that you can count on. We thank all of our clients for their continued support.

Today, we're spotlighting our transformative water improvement project in Southwest City. We covered everything from surveying, funding assistance, preliminary engineering and final design, to construction observation, materials testing, and geotechnical engineering. Our dedicated team ensures every detail is meticulously handled to .

In celebration of Public Works Week, we are proud to highlight our project focused on the essential repair and maintenance of the Lake Tapawingo dam and spillway.

OWN investigated the deteriorated spillway, evaluated drainage hydraulics, designed an alternate embankment drain system, attained MoDNR permits, and prepared engineering plans and project specifications. OWN also performed on-site construction observation, inspection, and administration for the project.

This project underscores our commitment to maintaining and improving public infrastructure, ensuring safety and resilience for our communities.

Today, we're focusing on . From connecting neighborhoods to enhancing transportation infrastructure, these bridges are a foundation for our thriving communities. We’re excited to have developed the preliminary bridge layout and roadway plans for this project on Route BB in Greene County, MO.

Our preliminary bridge layout featured hydraulic analysis to ensure the bridge was elevated enough to clear the design's high water level. For the roadway plans, we raised the roadway profile to match the new bridge elevation. To accommodate the TransAmerica Bike Trail, both the roadway and bridge were widened, with OWN handling the necessary right-of-way plans for MoDOT as a result of raising the grade of the bridge and roadway.

Congratulations to Brenden Gardner for passing the Professional Land Surveying exam in Kansas! This is a remarkable achievement considering the exam's difficulty and the few who have succeeded statewide. We're incredibly proud to have such a skilled and dedicated surveyor on our team. Well done!
