Springfield Partners for Community Action, Inc.

Springfield Partners is the federally designated Community Action Agency serving the greater Springfield area.

We help residents of our area reach stability through education, direct assistance, and outreach, right in the heart of Springfield. Our programs and help people obtain assets, like a home, a business or a college education. Maintaining assets is important, too, so we offer home weatherization, foreclosure prevention, and scholarships. We also help people make ends meet by facilitating access to health insurance, health care, food stamps, income tax filing assistance and many more basic needs.

Thank you Senator Adam Gomez

$100,000 in funding secured for the Cliff Effect Pilot Program as part of the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) state budget ✅

Among 13 amendments I was able to secure for FY25 is an earmark for Springfield WORKS, which will receive $100,000 to operate the Cliff Effect Pilot Program in partnership with Baystate Health, Holyoke Community College and Springfield Partners for Community Action, Inc. The “cliff effect” is a structural flaw in our public benefits systems that impacts working families when a wage increase pushes a household slightly above the maximum income limits of a public benefit they depend on. This triggers a loss or decrease in benefits, leaving them worse off and unable to cover basic expenses.
