One of CISA’s impacts: helping create the best local burrito in the Valley. Julie Chalfant of Roaming Farm LLC in South Deerfield explains:

“I was at one of CISA’s meet-and-greets – where they bring farmers together with restaurants and stores – and I was talking with Bob Lowry, owner of Bueno Y Sano. He didn’t come to that event looking for a new product, but during our conversation he said, 'wait a minute, I could do a local burrito,’ and came up with the idea for their Local Beef Chili Burrito. Now they have it at most of their locations, and we supply the beef."

All told, “I would say we've gotten most of our customers through CISA,” says Julie.

CISA is the connective tissue of our local food system. By helping farmers, chefs, business owners, and entrepreneurs of all stripes network with each other, we catalyze new ideas and build partnerships that strengthen our local food economy.

And that leads to some pretty dang delicious local food creations too! 😋 🌯
