*** EXPIRED *** Severe Thunderstorm Warning including Hendersonville TN, Gallatin TN and Mount Juliet TN until 1:15 PM CDT. This destructive storm will contain wind gusts to 80 MPH!
Good afternoon, Middle Tennessee! Unfortunately, we have a chance for strong to severe storms Sunday. Right now, the main window of time for severe weather is from 8 PM-2 AM, HOWEVER, I want to stress that the confidence in timing is low, so please stay tuned for updates. The main threats will be damaging straight-line winds of +60mph and large hail of 1 inch or greater.
While all of Middle Tennessee has a chance for strong storms, areas in the orange-shaded enhanced (3 out of 5) risk have the best chance for seeing severe storms.
What you can do now: have multiple, reliable ways to receive warnings, check back frequently for updates, and have a plan in place should severe weather impact you or your family!

*** EXPIRED ***
Severe Thunderstorm Warning including Springfield TN, Greenbrier TN and Coopertown TN until 12:00 AM CDT
530 PM Update for Middle Tennessee:
We continue to expect severe thunderstorms this evening. Damaging winds will be the most common feature but a few tornadoes will be possible. You can expect a TORNADO WATCH to be issued for areas along and west of I-65 very soon. Additional watches may spread to the Plateau later this evening. Destructive tornadoes have already occurred over eastern Arkansas.
Severe weather may begin impacting our northwest areas as early as 8 PM. Then, the threat will spread eastward through the evening. Nashville could begin to see severe weather around 10 PM. Storms are expected to move east of the Cumberland Plateau by 3 AM CDT.
Be weather aware through the evening and figure out now where you will go if a warning is issued for your location.
Strong to severe storms are possible Friday night (3/31)
** Key point right now: There is some question right now about the amount of energy available for widespread severe weather in Middle TN. If we can get enough, damaging wind and even a tornado is possible **
Actions to take: Enjoy the fantastic weather over the next couple of days and check back for the latest on this potential severe weather maker!

Non-thunderstorm winds are going to be crazy tomorrow. 30-35 mph sustained with gusts of 45-55 mph may drop trees and cause power outages before storms even get to you.
Pro-tip: Ensure your phone is charged to 100% tonight and put fresh batteries in your weather radio so you can get warnings during the day tomorrow.
We're still under the gun for more damaging wind gusts and even a tornado or two tomorrow. Here's a look at timing for tomorrow's severe threats 🔽
Not everybody will see dense , but a few spots could. With temperatures expected to be below freezing, spots could develop on bridges and overpasses tonight. Please use caution!
*WEATHER UPDATE 12/26/2022*
The snow continues to fall and roads are treacherous. Please limit travel if possible! Allow extra time for traveling. The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 1200 pm.
Alright ya'll. It looks like us here in RobCo could see the changeover from rain to snow sometime around 7 PM tomorrow night. Its going to be in the 50s tomorrow during the day until the front gets here with the wind and cold air. The air temperature is supposed to fall down quickly to create a flash freeze situation. Any standing liquid water will freeze especially on the roads, making it slick travel. It is not advised to travel on Friday at all...if you absolutely have to, please be extra careful and bring extra precautions with you in case of emergency as it will take longer for help to come to you. As for totals, 0.5 inch to 1.5 inches are likely. Depending on adequate forcing or if the cold air reaches us quicker, (cue the "always depends on something" argument), we could see more or we could see less. The bigger story in all of this is the wind and temperature change. Currently, the forecasted low is anywhere from 4 to -4. The wind chill will be well below 0 in the 20s. Prepare now. Have a good day.
WIND CHILL WATCH FRIDAY!
These will be some of the coldest temps of the weekend, but we will stay below freezing through Monday afternoon.
Being exposed to this kind of wind chill can cause frostbite in 30 minutes!
With frigid temperatures approaching this Friday, some will want to start a fire in their fireplace.
Before you light that first fire in your chimney, make sure you have cleaned your fireplace or hire a professional chimney sweeper!
