No matter how hard you work you cannot out exercise your diet! I hear it all the timeโฆโwell I will just work it off in classโ or โI can eat whatever I want after this hard workout โ and my favoriteโฆโ I bet you can eat whatever you want because you work out for a livingโ. NO, NO and NO! Think about this for a minute. The average slice of pizza with just a couple toppings is around 280 cal.(meat lovers 570!). How many slices of pizza do you eat? Do you have breadsticks with it? The average aerobic workout burns between 350-450 depending on your weight and level of fitness. So if you have two pieces of pizza, youโre still in a surplus even after your workout. Am I telling you not to eat pizza. No. Pizza can actually be fairly healthy especially if you make your own. I am just making a point. What you eat and how much you eat matters. Exercise keeps you strong. Muscle mass raises metabolism. Healthy, eating, and exercise go together! See you in class!๐๐๐ช๐ป

How are your triceps? We worked them pretty hard this week! This is a muscle group that is sometimes neglected because when people work their upper body, they think more about the biceps, shoulders and chest. But the triceps and back balance all that out! This week we are going to focus on some more neglected muscle groups. You may not be as familiar with some of these muscles, but they are very important, especially for posture. Below are a couple examples. I look forward to learning and exercising with you this week!

So this past week I focused on the core in most classes. Remember the core is not just your abs. Muscles from the shoulder to the upper thigh make up the entire core. This coming week we will focus on the lower body including the glutes,as they are a very important part of your core. We will also pay a lot of attention to our calves, as they are the second โheartโ in your body! Stay tuned for more!
