The WALNUT Bookmatched Table
Can you envision your family around this one of a kind, Walnut, pedestal dining table?

Stretching 12' long and averaging 38" wide (you can see how little our shop helper looks!), this table is sure to carry memories, stories, good times and bad throughout the years.
This piece was handcrafted from a set of bookmatched walnut slabs, edges left natural, and the bases turned for a pedestal style. It is finished a matte conversion varnish ensuring it lasts generations.

The Turnt BOWLS
Handcrafted, these bowls undergo a process like none other!

Each of these pieces are taken from "chunks" of wood or burls. A burl is a bulbous, rounded tree growth usually found on tree trunks and sometimes on branches. They form as the result of stress that its tree has undergone. Burls can be as small as your fist or larger than a person.
Burls will turn without consistency, and you have no idea what you're getting on the inside!

For the other "chunks" of wood, these are typically cross cuts of the tree resulting in a bowl that could be lackluster in character. However, with a couple months time and some good ole beer, spalting can occur creating a beautiful array of striations and colors.

Bowl carving, drying, and finish turning will take up to a year! But the result speak for themselves.

The RECLAIMED Table
Built from Reclaimed Cherry, this console table was designed to fit in a space that was "impossible to buy for". This space had unique dimensions that you can't find on the shelves of big box stores, but with one conversation we had the table designed and ready to start production.
Left with a double live edge, this single slab of Cherry was dried to 6% moisture before we began the stabilizing, epoxy fill, and sanding stages. We dry our lumber to ensure they will stay stable over time!

The MANTEL
Adorning this gorgeous fireplace, you'll find reclaimed beams not only as the mantel, but as accent beams to really make this front wall a statement piece! The final touch is an accent table and benches!

Historic, reclaimed beams not only give character, warmth, and LIFE to your space, but they are a great way to tell a story whether it be local or history or family beams.
**The Mortise and Tenon pockets left on display in the upper beam really bring the whole space together! Did you know this is how they secured posts/beams in barns? Typically, you'll find wooden pegs as the final stabilizing piece in this kind of joinery. This is also where we got our inspiration for the Lincoln Table as the legs are joined in the same manner they were centuries ago.

CUSTOM CABINETS :: Spalted Maple top and Maple base
This is 1 of 2 cabinets that will adorn each side of a brand new home's fireplace and mantel!

To fit in their space (and make sure both sides looked symmetrical), we chose a maple hardwood combo for the base. To add character and bring in some of the darker tones of the floor and kitchen, 2 bookmatched spalted maple tops lay atop each cabinet.
This piece originally started as something that would be painted white, however, the original build (pre-paint) brought so much warmth to the space that they were left in a natural wood finish!

We use Conversion Varnish finish (and encourage a full 30 day dry time to ensure the hardness) so these cabinets can be used for the lifetime of the home.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT :: Reclaimed Barn Wood Wall
When they added electronic fireplace to their space, they had to add an entire built in (for the box to sit in). On that built-in, they chose to add reclaimed barn wood as a nice accent. They went with a grey, brown, and white mixture for a unique blend of character.

While we didn't see the space prior to the built in and barn wood, we can only image the transformation this space underwent! And they did it themselves...for the most part.

This is the best part about our reclaimed barn wood. The back is planed for a flat, easy install. You simply need some time (and maybe a friend). We like to paint the wall a dark color prior to install (there will be knots and holes in the barn wood...it's real barn wood) to help the holds blend into the wood. You can use either a nail gun (make sure you check for wires prior to install and shoot one nail up and one down to securely hold the boards on) or wood glue and stick the boards right on the wall. We like to alternate the lengths and widths for this particular style, however...you do you!
Right now, our processed, planed, cut, cleaned, and kiln dried barn wood wall cladding is at $10.50 a square foot! And a 4 week turn around. This is a steal if you're looking to upgrade your space!

Made from local reclaimed pine (straight out of the original Mechanicsburg School House), these 2 doors were custom built (and they are BIG). Hung by Leatherneck Hardware, Inc. to ensure there will be NO warping of the metal over the years, installed with door stops, wall guides, and soft close hinges, these doors are sure to add the separation and accent feature to the basement.

This design is a Horizontal laid rough sawn pine with one center style for stability. Check out Image 2 and 3 for other Barn Door designs. Each of these require reclaimed barn wood, and we typically use pine so we can still slide the doors once assembled (Oak doors are HEAVY). For a unique spin on the barn door, consider them as shutters for your windows...privacy and protection all in one.

MANTEL :: Reclaimed Barn Beam
Rough sawn, old growth pine is what sits on this fireplace. This beam was left raw to show off its natural character and nail holes. A Flat conversion varnish was applied for a little bit of protection.

Did you know...
At minimum, your mantel must be 12" above your fire box. HOWEVER, you MUST follow the firebox manufacturer's specifications to stay within fire code.
Our Fireplace Mantels are EASY to install with our 2x4 system, all you need is a level and drill (a stud finder wouldn't hurt...you can always try the *knock*knock* system :)

Customer Spotlight :: A BARN BEAM MANTEL
Chosen by our customer, and installed with our easy-to-install 2x4 mount (although this one needed a little extra love as there was 2 pieces of rebar sticking out from the fireplace), this unique barn beam mantel was the perfect addition to their basement space.
Color matched to the floors and finished with a Matte Conversion Varnish for protection, we are so excited to be able to call this fireplace Done :) And so is the customer...it's been a few years of a mantel-less fireplace.
