Happy Monday! We wanted to start this week off with a staff spotlight. ✨ Emily has been working for ShowMe Aquatics for almost a year. Read below to find out more about Emily!
School/Education Background:
I graduated from St. Charles Community College with a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance in May of 2023.
Work Background:
During high school, I worked at a school in their after-school program, and in college, I gained experience in customer service at a hotel. Throughout these experiences, I've always enjoyed working with and meeting new people.
Favorite Thing About Working at ShowMe Aquatics:
My favorite aspect of this job is forming relationships with my clients and witnessing them benefit from water therapy.
Favorite Equipment or Activity to Use at the Pool:
One of my favorite pieces of equipment is the balance board. We can do a variety of activities while standing on it, effectively challenging balance and core strength.
Favorite Showme Aquatics Client Memory:
One memorable experience involves a client who loves to sing. We incorporate singing as a motivator for her to complete different activities, and I eagerly look forward to Tuesdays when I get to work with her.
Why Did You Choose Your Career Path?
I chose this career path after witnessing the positive impact occupational therapy had on my family and friends. I'm passionate about making a difference in people's lives.
Fun/Interesting Fact About Me:
A fun fact about me is that I was homeschooled for the majority of my life.
Favorite Benefit of the Water:
Water enables people to engage in activities they may not be able to do on land, such as various forms of exercise and enjoyable activities.
Here at ShowMe we serve clients at all ages! Each of our clients have individualized goals to target their specific needs, goals are adjusted each session to ensure we are meeting our clients at their just right goals. Below are just a few examples of different goals/objectives that may benefit our pediatric clients. While some of our clients may have similar goals, they may be completing very different treatment activities to meet that goal. We love thinking of new and creative goals for each of our clients.
