99% Attendance or higher for the school year! ❤️
Team Olympian Superlative awards! The BEST group of kids and so much to be proud of!
Sugar overload! We are having a blast with our trivia day! So much laughter and lots of smiles! Which team will come out as “Trivia Champions?!?” ❤️
Today, Team Olympian took time to compliment one another! Each student stood facing away from paper that their teammates spent time writing compliments on. It was a great activity and really reinforced the need for kindness!
Lucy and Ava were the first two on Team Olympian to complete 42/42 Power Focus Areas this school year! Their study habits, dedication and unwavering effort is much appreciated! Great work, girls! ❤️
What a fantastic day at the Zoo! Thank you to all of the parents who joined us today! We appreciate you and hope everyone had a great day! ❤️ (if you took pictures today, please email them to Mrs Cotton)
On Monday, April 8, 2024, St. Louis will experience the Great North American Eclipse, a deep partial solar eclipse with magnitude 99.1% coverage, an event where the moon passes directly between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow over our planet and temporarily darkening the skies. Affton School District does plan to be in school that day, and we will provide Eclipse Shades for every student and team member, which meet the CE and ISO requirements for safe viewing. 💜😎💜
This natural phenomenon not only offers a unique learning experience but also a moment of collective wonder and curiosity. To ensure that our students can safely enjoy this event, we are coordinating a special viewing session equipped with all necessary precautions. Today was so needed!❤️
❤️
More of our “just because day!” ❤️
Today was a “just because day!” We took the time with our core classes to focus on mental health and find a reason to smile! We played our version of freeze tag with napkins on our heads, sang, we watched cartoons, we played board games, we colored, we played outside and most importantly we enjoyed friendships and enjoyed childhood today! Take care of each other! ❤️
It was game time in advisory today! 🎉
Don’t forget about tomorrow’s (Monday 12/18) field trip to the movies! We have permission and ticket money collected! However- IF YOUR CHILD WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE CONCESSIONS AT THE THEATER, PLEASE REMEMBER THERE IS A $5 (+tax) COMBO AVAILABLE OF A SOFT DRINK AND POPCORN! YOU WILL NEED TO SEND CASH MONDAY WITH YOUR CHILD. This is the only snack/drink option. No food or drink may be brought from outside the theater! Thank you for following theater policy!
We are wishing the best of luck to Connor as he competes tomorrow with our Robotics team at MICDS! Connor and the team have built and programmed a Robot and and will be presenting an Innovation Project tomorrow! We are cheering you on and are proud of you, Connor! ❤️
So much hard work went into the fall musical, Honk Jr! We are very proud of the cast and crew! Thank you, Mr Murphy, for your hard work and dedication!
We are so proud of every single student who joined the Drama club this semester and participated as either cast or crew! Congratulations on your opener today! We enjoyed the matinee and your Team Olympian classmates and teachers are so proud of you!❤️
We took some time out of this beautiful afternoon to play outside! How amazing that so many of these kids worked together to build a huge leaf pile! Some played kickball, walked around, talked with friends… So fun and much needed outside time.
In Math class we did measuring stations today! We are starting our Unit Rates and Percentages unit. It was great to get up and move around in class! They did a great job looking at what units of measurement are larger and smaller and how the unit used affected their answers.
Please help if you can! ❤️
UPDATE: This need has been met. Thank you for your generosity and support! 💜
CAN YOU HELP? --> Every so often, the Affton Family Fund receives requests for specific items needed by students and families in our district, and we're hoping you can help. We currently have an Affton family in need of:

Starting their day with some incredible study habits on their PFA work! We sure are proud of how hard our Olympians work each day! ❤️
Ms. Mickle is ready for Halloween Day with the 6th graders!
Taking a 3-D shape and creating a net for it! Then finding the surface area using the net they created. They did awesome!
