Foot Fact Fridayπ€π
Did you know that during the first 3 years of life kids feet have the most rapid foot growth.
Birth to 12 months - baby feet can increase five sizes
From 12 to 24 months - 2 more sizes up is the norm
From 24 to 36 months - kids often gain another two shoe sizes
Once they're 4 years old, shoe size usually doesn't change more than once every 8 to 12 months. Although growth spurts always seem to strike right after you buy new shoes. π

Unlike many other types of cancer, melanoma strikes people of all age groups, even the young. Most melanoma is caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun or tanning beds.

Melanoma that occurs in the foot or ankle often goes unnoticed during its earliest stage, when it would be more easily treated. Check your feet regularly and protect your feet from the sun with sunscreen!

Osteoarthritis is a condition characterized by the breakdown and eventual loss of cartilage in one or more joints. In the foot, the disease most frequently occurs in the big toe, although it is also often found in the midfoot and ankle. Symptoms include pain and stiffness in the joint, swelling in or near the joint and difficulty walking or bending the joint. Some patients with osteoarthritis also develop a bone spur (a bony protrusion) at the affected joint. When osteoarthritis has progressed substantially or has failed to improve with non-surgical treatment, surgery may be recommended.
