Killin it on thus beautiful rainy Tuesday afternoon 💪💪
Introducing Tinker Training's member of the month for September. is totally killing in the gym. She shows up each week with a high level of drive and determination, which is why she is seeing consistent progress in her strength and fitness goals. We are super proud to have her on board:) Keep it up lady!
Super excited about this!!! Meet Melissa, one of Tinker Training's online clients. Melissa has been putting in the work in and out of the gym. She has shown dedication and determination over the past few months and has definitely reaped the rewards...
Hear it all from her:)
"In October of 2023 I went to two different doctors due to numerous health issues and weight gain. I was told that because I was a 44 year old female, I needed to accept that weight loss wouldn’t happen for me.
I wasn’t settling for that answer and began some of the work. Over the next few months, I began putting in the work but I was burning out and still self-sabotaging with food. There’s so much misinformation out there, especially for women. I dealt with “trainers” who didn’t want to hear my goals or take the time to learn anything about me.
I was introduced to Matt in January. He immediately made me feel comfortable and heard. He understood what my goals were and then tailored my workouts and macros to them in his app.
Tracking my food and workouts is something I’ve always done, but knowing that he has access to them in the app is a game-changer when it comes to accountability! He is extremely knowledgeable and great at calling me on my s**t when necessary.
Since January I have lost twenty pounds and 39 inches! Losing weight and inches is amazing, but there’s so much more that I’ve gained in the process with Matt as my trainer:
-I’m seeing muscle in places that I haven’t seen since high school.
-I have an actual butt. :)
-I can do lunges that my knees wouldn’t allow me to do before, the same with a really low squat!
-My cardio health has improved tremendously
-I can do movements in Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing that I could NEVER do before. (Mobility/flexibility is unreal) -My relationship with food is no longer toxic and I’m eating to fuel correctly.
-I’ve learned more about my body, recovery, and mobility because of the vast amount of knowledge he has and shares.
If you’re on the fence about hiring Matt, don’t be. Investing in yourself is the most important thing you can do."
A couple of days late, but I still gotta give it up to the Saturday morning crew at Tinker Training! Solid group of workers, right here💪💪
This week's Wellness Wednesday from Tinker Training is about sunlight. 🌞 Sunlight is known to have many health benefits from stimulating the production of vitamin D to elevating mood and aiding with weight loss and sleep. With the winter months coming, what are some ways we can get our sunlight in during those not so warm days?? I'll start :)
1. Finding a window in the home (or work, if possible) that lets the most light in and having lunch or a healthy snack by it.
2. Winter outdoor activities such as hiking or sledding... if we get snow lol ❄️
This week on Wellness Wednesday from Tinker Training, we're adding to our post from last week and taking a moment to offer a few tips on staying hydrated and recovering from all this heat. The first tip we'll add is to be sure to set and hit your water goals. In higher temperatures, you may need to consume a little extra water, especially if you are working out or working outdoors. You can enhance your hydration/recovery process by adding electrolytes either in the form of supplementation or eating fruits such as bananas, apples, oranges, and peaches. If possible, avoid going out during the hottest part of the day and get plenty of rest at night. What for signs of overheating and dehydration, such as feeling thirsty (water up:), dry mouth, fatigue, lightheaded or dizziness, or discolored urine.
Welcome again to Wellness Wednesday from Tinker Training. This week our brief topic will be water intake/ hydration. Please Note: I am not claiming to give medical advice nor am I a doctor. The information here is solely based on my experience and research as a fitness professional (14 years), exercise enthusiast, and professional fighter.
It is suggested that active adults consume between 100 and 150 ounces of water per day. Activity level and climate may have an impact on these numbers.
Personally I drink between 130 amd 150 ounces of water per day, and have been for quite a few years now:) I use a gallon jug so I can keep track of where I'm at with my intake. Some benefits of adequate water intake include but are not limited to: joint lubrication, delivering oxygen throughout the body, boost skin health, regulate body temperature, and flushing waste... the list goes on. How much water do you drink per day? As always message me for helpful strategies on upping your water intake:)
It's Wellness Wednesday here at Tinker Training, and this week's topic is Gratitude.
Chosing a daily practice of Gratitude can and does have a multitude positive effects on one's life. Everything from mental and physical health to relationships, self esteem, and happiness can improve with practicing Gratitude. I began practicing Gratitude years ago when a mentor suggested that keep a notebook and write down 3 things I'm grateful for everyday. This routine has proved to be one surefire way to help me remember to have an "Attitude of Gratitude." What are you grateful for today?
Every year, and any chance I get in between, I will tell a bit of my story. This is so others know that help is out there, that recovery is possible for everyone in need. Today I celebrate 16 years of a life free from alcohol, he**in and other drugs. We are not alone, help is out there. Thank you God
Tinker Training's member of the month Sean Jackson has found a home here and has seen some great results by putting in the work.
Here is a brief testimonial from Sean:
I’ve been following weight lifting programs on my own for years, but working with Matt has completely transformed my approach and results. His professional expertise in identifying and targeting my weak spots, coupled with a tailored program that addresses them, has helped me reach new heights in my training. The personal touch and Matt's fun, motivating attitude make each workout not just effective but one of the best parts of my day. Thanks to Matt’s guidance, I’m consistently hitting new personal bests and breaking through plateaus that had stymied my progress in the past. I can’t recommend his coaching enough!
Meet Sean, Tinker Training's newest member of the month. Sean has seen some amazing progress since starting with me last year, as well as scored some significant PRs. Check out his testimonial coming soon. Let's all give it up for Sean👏👏
