Yeyo Arts Collective left its southside location in November of 2018. Nine months later we are still struggling to secure an art home and gallery in North Saint Louis.
In December of 2018, after I traveled to the border and supported the folks in Tornillo, I returned to Saint Louis to find that my Facebook campaign had been canceled by FB without reason nor explanation.
Shortly thereafter, we experienced a racist attack at the Fannie Lou Hamer House, where Yeyo Arts had taken a residency under direction of my Co-Host Treasure Shields Redmond and I. As many read in a separate fundraiser, we are just now able to recover and restore all of the loss art and broken infastructure from the unfortunate happening.
In April, while still in the midst of fundraising and in the midst of contract negotiating, the house that our organization was in the works to purchase caught on fire.
We are still moving forward to purchasing a property in our target area. We are relaunching our campaign and we would love your support.
Lets goal to get a new home by November 2019!
Any support or sharing helps!
Thank you to those who supported early on. We were able to raise over 3000.00 on GoFundMe and 2000.00 in direct donation! We still have a ways to go!

We are excited about the exhibition at the Regional Arts Commission. We will be one of the organizations receiving a small grant from the proceeds of the sales. Check out the Panel discussion tonight.
Panel Discussion: How are you “Creating a Living Legacy?”
Please join us for an engaging conversation and panel discussion with legal experts to discover the key steps to securing your artistic legacy on Friday, June 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission. Every artist, regardless of age, needs a plan for their original artwork. “Creating a Living Legacy: Learn How to Preserve the Value of Your Art” will focus on estate planning basics, proper documentation of artwork and intellectual property considerations.
The panel, organized by St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLAA), will include attorneys from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner:
Lana Hompleum Lane, J.D.
Elizabeth Schlesinger, J.D.
Matt Minder, J.D.
Attendees will receive the Joan Mitchell Foundation’s Estate Planning Workbook for Visual Artists, a review of inventory apps prepared by St. Louis artist Sukayna Mani and giveaways from CERF+, a national service organization dedicated to helping artists safeguard their livelihoods.
The free event comes as a special presentation of our “Hal Poth: Off the Wall” exhibition. The Gallery will be open before and after the event for guests to explore the exhibition and purchase artwork. All proceeds benefit local nonprofit arts organizations. Admission is free.
We’ll see you at The Gallery on June 14!
