Dive into the wonders of the bonnethead shark at the St. Louis Aquarium! Bonnethead sharks are a unique species known for its adorable, shovel-shaped head! These little guys play a vital role in their ecosystems, feasting on seagrass and helping to maintain healthy ocean habitats. That’s right! A shark that eats veggies! Bonnethead sharks are the only omnivorous shark species; meaning they actively seek out and rely on both vegetation and fish for their diet. Let’s celebrate these fascinating creatures and raise awareness about ocean conservation!

It’s Rosie’s 5th Hatch Day! Rosie is our intelligent African Grey Parrot and the only bird who currently lives at the St. Louis Aquarium. Grey Parrots can live 40-60 years under human care. Meaning that Rosie will have many more “Bird-days” to celebrate here! She has the ability to mimic sounds using a special vocal apparatus called a syrinx. While she doesn’t say “Happy Birthday” (yet), we highly recommend you stop in to wish her a Happy Bird Day on August 20th!
Today is and our team members are sharing some tips on how to get some great photos when visiting the Aquarium! Also, should we do another Photography Night soon?! 📸📸
