Hey folks, open till 6PM today, Friday. Wednesday nights's Running Niche Run Club was really nice. 8 new runners showed up in addition to our regulars. We do this each Wednesday at 6:30PM, ALL paces are welcome, and 40-60 runners/walkers participate on a regular basis. Come join us next Wednesday!

Join us at Running Niche on Monday August 19 at 6:00PM for an hour-long presentation on fueling for race day. This session will focus on the 4-6 weeks leading up the half and full marathon. Aimee will focus on how to practice your fueling strategy in the weeks before the BIG RACE. And will help you with the week leading up your goal race. She will explain why fueling during a long race is crucial to a good performance. This is a great opportunity for experienced and new racers to ask questions. Quite a footrace, congrats to the winner, Lance Mueller 4:19.9 and congrats to TRN's Matt Moler for placing 2nd in 4:20.0. On the women's side TRN's Lauren Sandberg and Lyndi Hanson battled down the home stretch and Lauren got the nod for the W. Open 12-4 today, Sunday. Market Mile STL was this morning, and we had a bunch of Team Running Niche folks participate. Got a handful together for a team pic. Kudos to Running Niche owner Jennifer Henderson for having some fun out there this morning in the middle of marathon training and getting 2nd in her age group! This was a good, fund event ending at Union Station. Thanks to Mark Spewak of for organizing a great race. We'll be back next year.

OPen till 5 PM today, Monday. Quite a weekend at Running Niche. and Jennifer are exhausted. But we definitely enjoyed a new place for ice cream we discovered in Benton Park Sunday after work. .spoonful.of.sugar_stl. A Spoonful of Sugar is family owned by mom and her two sons. Wonderful people and wonderful ice cream. Will be our stop pretty much every sunday afternoon. A Spoonful of Sugar was born in Benton Park on April 24th, 2024! An available, small shop space attracted the attention of Elijah Jabari. Jabari had always dreamt of entrepreneurship and the shop was a perfect way to embark on that journey. Equipped with 12 years of food service experience, most of which in management, he took a risk. His family was quick to hop on and help him get the store open. In the first month of operation, ASOS has implemented a Summer Reading Program for the community to participate in and are doing their part to help families in the area with food insecurity by partnering with GiftAMeal. So, Jennifer and I went there yesterday after our runs. Oh, what a gem it is! Open till 6PM today Friday. So, what's the diff between Hyperion Max 2 and Hyperion 2? While both have Nitrogen infused foam (lightness/responsive), Max 2 does have a slightly higher stack height (i.e. more foam) and contains a mildly flexible plate which allows a "rocker" like feel. Hyperion 2 has a lower stack height (i.e. less foam), no plate, but is 2 oz. lighter. Fit is quite similar. So, which one is best for you will depend on how you anticipate using the shoe. In our world of Lydiard training, our TRN athletes may use the Max 2 for their longer "Out and Back" weekend sessions on the roads vs. the Hyperion 2 would be excellent for interval work on the track and shorter, faster workouts on the roads.
