As our celebration of the United Way workplace campaign comes to a close, we want to express our gratitude to every participating chapter for allowing us to share your story. Today, our final spotlight features United Way of Greater St. Louis. The mission of UWGSL is to mobilize the community with one goal in mind—helping people live their best possible lives.
Each year, one million people are helped by United Way of Greater St. Louis-supported nonprofits. That's 1 in 3 people throughout their 16-county service region. Additionally, they equip over 160 local nonprofits with vital funding and training resources to keep the region’s safety net responsive and resilient.
In 2025, they look to continue focusing on their five impact areas: essential needs, early childhood and youth success, health and wellbeing, jobs and financial mobility, and community stability and crisis response. Working together, they will continue to create a stronger, healthier and more equitable St. Louis region.

We're continuing our celebration of our United Way partners as part of our United Way Workplace campaign! Today, we're pleased to feature our friends at United Way of Metro Chicago! United Way of Metro Chicago mobilizes private, philanthropic, and public sector resources to help individuals meet their basic needs and support equitable transformation in neighborhoods across the Chicago region.
In 2024, UWMC continued the critical work of helping individuals meet their basic needs and transforming neighborhoods from the inside out. Earlier this year, United Way announced an investment in suburban Summit, with Cook County’s Transforming Places, expanding our Neighborhood Network Initiative to 18 communities. United Way also celebrated the 1-year anniversary of 211 Metro Chicago – a 24/7 helpline that has made 200,000+ referrals to help Cook County residents support their basic needs.
As they look to 2025, United Way of Metro Chicago will build on its existing work and deepen relationships with business, nonprofit, philanthropic, public, and community partners to help their neighbors have what they need – such as access to food, housing, education, and health care – and transform communities.
