New tanks + tees are in my merchandise shop. Sweet saws and floral flames.
The link’s in my bio.
How’s the weather where you are?
Well well well…
Guess who finally finished the 38 bajillion pieces she started and never finished, and then complained because she had to polish + set stones for 4 straight days?
It’s me. I’m the one.
Lots of pretty new things are now in my shop. I solemnly vow to COMPLETELY finish the next pieces before I start the new ones. 🤞🏾
I’m putting the finishing by touches on some simple and “super cyoooot” jewelry staples for spring. Make sure you’re signed up for emails so you’ll be the first to know when I drop them in my shop, sometime tomorrow (March 26).
Special thanks for my daughter who enthusiastically modeled these for me. And then made weird faces.
News You Can Use (literally):
My hoarding of African seed/trade beads has become untenable. I try to remove a strand from the bunch, and chaos ensues.
I need to re-home some of them. $10 💵 will get you three random strands and free shipping (US only). There are tons of beautiful blues, wonky cuts and sizes, all some are at least 100 years old.
Write “beads” in the comments (or send me a little message) and I’ll send you a quick invoice.
Your assistance in this matter is GREATLY appreciated.
Happy Galentine’s / Palentine’s Day!
Let’s take a second to celebrate — tag your best gal or favorite pal in the comments!
Tomorrow I’ll select comment and send you BOTH a Heart in Hand Necklace! (Be sure your bestie tags you, too, to double your chances.)
In the carousel:
+ , two women for whose friendship I’m grateful and whose artistry I deeply admire.
my soul sister and very best friend.
My kiddos, who argue like a married couple, but vibe like best friends.
my “work” bestie with the sunshine-iest personality.
Billeanor - they’ve both been here before and their spirits know it.
Pippin + Murphy - a bromance never before witnessed in all the animal kingdom.
This is for women and femmes who, like me, are still deciding what they wanna be when they grow up. I’m currently between metalsmith and dog-trainer, though full-time knitter and movie critic are also appealing.
Late Bloomer Necklace and a few other neck adornments are available in my shop.
I’ve been working away on a new collection of jewelry - 6 necklace, 8 pairs of earrings, and a bracelet. I’m using stones inspired by my upcoming trip to Arizona.
I used to announce my new jewelry collections with fanfare and trumpets (read: loads of photos and preview posts), but the pressure of getting work finished by a specific deadline makes my brain hurt. Plus, I like to stop for an occasional nap, and it throws my schedule off completely.
In any case, I’ll have new work dropping tomorrow evening, around 7ish pm. Make sure you’re signed up for emails to get early access.
Happy “Day You Have to Drag Your Ass Back to Work After the Long Holiday Weekend”, to all those who are participating.
It’s also Cyber Monday (or whatever), so I added a new range of colors and sizes to my Saws and Floral Flames at a lower price! (Link’s in my profile.)
I can’t promise wearing one will make us better at sawing or soldering, but we can at least DRESS like we know what we’re doing. So celebrate the special metalsmith in your life (especially if the metalsmith in your life is YOU!)
I don’t know what to name these earrings (“Fresh Harvest”? Frozen Florals”?), but I’m getting ready to list a whole bunch of them in my shop.
Y’all.
I’ll be at a craft market on NOVEMBER 26.
Find me at Olive + Oak in Webster Groves, MO for “Shop in Joy” from 12-4pm.
Last week’s Monday Mania question was such fun I’ve decided to make it a thing. Except I can’t make it because…
I’m a bit busy today so I’m gonna try and get some stuff ready for my mom and then I’ll probably go back to bed”. 🤷🏾♀️
How about you?
Happy Wear a Costume Even If You’re an Adult Day, to those who celebrate.
Here’s an assortment of my past faves, including my very first Mother-Son Costume.
I shall henceforth be known as The Magnetic Donut.
What’s your superhero name?
Life is hard, so I’ll keep making things that bring me joy. Here, I’m combining a bit of leather with a sprinkling of powder coating.
My teen qween and I are participating in our first market TOGETHER! She’s bringing the pizzazz and I’m bringing the “I’m not sure that goes together”.
In any case, I’ll post an occasional photo of what we’re up to. If you see something you’d like, send me a message! Otherwise it’ll be headed to Shop in Joy!
I’m so giddy to see this collection come together. It’s way out of the box for me, and when we, as artists share, a bit of our art, we’re really sharing a bit of our hearts. From the love on my most recent reel, and to know y’all are digging it, makes the journey down this wayward path all the better.
The SEROTONIN BOOST is TONIGHT. I emailed my friends to let y’all know the exact time.
In my “Almost 40 and Dresses Like a Teenage Boy with Cool Earrings” Era.
(and, quite frankly, eats like a teenage boy, too).
Crazy Quilt Earrings

powder coated brass
“Dear Edna,
How are you?
I suppose you are home now.
Achsah”
I found a stack of very old postcards at a craft shop in Tennessee. Achsah and Edna were friends from Rockford, IL, and often sent each other small missives back in 1908.
(👉🏾Swipe to see the originals)
I didn’t know what would become of them, until an accident with a printer, some sheet music, and a sheet of Shrinky D***s brought me the idea to make them into earrings.
“Dear Edna” Earrings
-Shrink plastic + sterling silver
-Cast Hydrangeas to represent heartfelt emotions
I no longer know where I am going with these on-going experiments. I *think* it’ll all pay off. Maybe? I’m not sure about that, either. Being an artist can feel risky.
Asymmetrical Tulip Earrings
Sterling silver + acrylic
I’m giving myself space and permission to experiment on a collection. Lots of color, fun shapes, new materials. Hope you’ll stay along for the ride.
I considered wearing this Cicada Necklace to my endocrinologist appointment, but I didn’t want the other diabetics to be jealous. I put it on my website instead. It’s available along with a few other pretties. Now you can be the fanciest person in the waiting room.
You ever have those weeks where you know you did stuff, but don’t feel like you got anything DONE? How do you measure that? WHY do we measure that?
- I played around with new media for my jewelry and didn’t end up in tears. Also ordered supplies.
-Watched my beautiful son parade around Busch Stadium with his Redbird Rookie teammates.
-took my daughter shopping for a swimsuit (please send thoughts and prayers).
-vox a book and started two new ones.
-had video calls with my bestie (she moved last month and the grief has been real). It’s getting easier to see her thru a screen instead of IRL, but the dogs are still at a loss.
-continued the tradition of my weekly call with my metalbestie
-swept the dining room floor.
I’m not sure why I gave y’all a boring recap of my week thus far except to say, if you’re like me, “HANG IN THERE!”
———————————
Vox Botanicus (an experimental collection that’s still underway) using:
pressed + dried grasses
sterling silver
resin
New packaging.
New vibe.
Can’t wait to send y’all new goodies in these.
Been working a whole lot of earrings.
An earsplosion.
An earring-palooza.
An earring avalanche.
Keep an eye on your email next week. I’ll let you know when they hit the shop.
A couple-a things to tell you:
1. I’ve very much enjoyed creating in a slow + steady way this summer. My nervous system has really benefited from not being in a constant rush to crank out jewelry.
2. I pulled a wee collection together and it’ll be on my website tomorrow. I’ll email you to let you know when everything is ready.
3. Stay hydrated, y’all.
Greetings from Paris!
Last night, we took a midnight scooter ride to the Eiffel Tower. This morning, I ordered grillè aux pomme et cafe au lait from a boulangerie in passable French. I received much coaching from . Our hotelier told him his French was “very good”. It made me swoon.
My feets are tired, but my soul is glad.
(or is it ?) is a flashy, chonky cicada statement necklace. It’s headed to for the upcoming “Flora and Fauna” exhibit in June.
I’m delighted to participate among some artists that I truly admire, but that Imposter Syndrome has been hitting hard.
Still… excelsior.
