Stafford Rotary Music Contest - MVHS students interested in applying for this contest will need to compose their own solo vocal, keyboard or instrumental piece and record the performance. The video must include a max. of 30 seconds introduction and maximum of 5 minute performance and be uploaded to a private YouTube channel. The link and application will need to be sent to Mrs. O'Toole ([email protected]) no later than Friday, March 3 to be entered into the competition. Cash prizes will be awarded to top 3 winners. Contest details and application are attached below.
Stafford Rotary Speech Contest - MVHS students interested in applying for this contest will need to write a speech with the theme "Imagine Rotary". It must be 5-8 minutes long and must be presented without notes, props, or prompts. The first contest will be the Stafford Rotary level (week of March 6-9) where winners will be awarded cash prizes (1st - $100 , 2nd - $50, 3rd - $25). The 1st place winner will then compete at the Fredericksburg area competition. The 1st place winner of that level will go on to the District 7610 competition (April 15) where more cash prizes are awarded (1st $1000 , 2nd $500 , 3rd $250) and the winner will be invited to give their speech at the Rotary District 7610 Conference (April 22). Contest details and application are attached below. If interested, please contact Mrs. O’Toole ([email protected]) and submit application no later than Tuesday, February 28.
Staff & Student basketball game on Thursday, February 23 at 6:30pm. Admission is 1 canned good. Bring additional cans for a chance to win some prizes!
For the month of February, the Mountain View Interact Club will be assisting the Stafford Rotary Club by collecting new or gently used shoes (all sizes and purposes) for Soles4Souls (a non-profit organization that provides "relief, fighting poverty and saving the planet"). Donations may be placed in the collection box in the main office or brought to room 325. We will collect through Tuesday, February 28 so you have time to do some 'pre-spring cleaning'. See the website linked above if you want to learn more about the organization.
MVHS Canned food drive- Learn & Serve will be collecting canned good February 21-24. Each donation will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes! We are currently looking for 14.5-15oz size cans, but will accept any donations. See attached flyer for more information.
Prom Shop Dress Drive- Drop off any gently used prom dresses, long or short, at A.G. Wright Middle School to as they prepare for the annual Prom Dress Shop. All donations are greatly appreciated!
