If you happen to pick up today's newspaper from Starkville Daily News you may see us in a special article! A big thank you to Ms. Candy and the Kiwanis for inviting us to speak and tell our community about what the King Center has been doing for years - being a lighthouse for the area! And a big thank you to Emma Nisbet for the amazing article!
School is in session and the King Center is hitting the ground running! We love seeing our students hard at work, and they love the King Center! ππ¨
At the King Center, we think math is very important! So we have a simple equation for you: your donations now equals better assistance to our community in the future! The numbers don't lie: 60 students leveling up in our afterschool, over 200 backpacks given out for the new school year (in under an hour!), and a 100% passing rate in the 3rd grade reading state test! Your donations contribute to us making even bigger numbers!

We had such a fun time ending off our Summer Camp with a trip to the McWane Science Center! We loved it and our students did too! They made huge upgrades to the building, and we can't wait to go back again!
TWO TIME, TWO TIME!!
For the SECOND year in a row, all our 3rd grade students passed the reading state test this year! The King Center is so proud of our afterschool students for pushing the level, congratulations kids!
We want to give a big thank you to our community for coming out bright and early to our School Supply Giveaway this weekend! Almost 200 backpacks and bags full of supplies and materials given out - all in under an hour and a half! Goes to show how much the community loves the King Center! ππͺ
Our School Supply Backpack Giveaway is tomorrow morning! Come out and pick out a full backpack or bag full of school supplies to get your students ready for the next school year! Doors open at 9 am, we won't stop until every bag is gone!
Who said we weren't hardworking this summer? This week at the King Center our very own Ms. Angel Christian has been working with our students on their reading and writing skills! Helping our children explore our feelings through reading the Big Cheese, making cheese and cracker towers, spelling, cursive writing and more! No one does it like the King Center!
We had a busy week this week at the JL King Center! We had our friends at Regions Bank teach our kids about financial literacy, our very own Dr. Alison Buehler taught reading comprehension, and the lovely Ms. EC helped our students get active with dancing! Our Summer Camp is running strong and we aren't slowing down!
