Ye Olde Freeze & Thaw Cycle Shoppe of State College, Penna. will be hosting an ORBEA Orca M30i Demo Day on Saturday 9/7 @ 10am from the Linden Hall Schoolhouse.

Please email [email protected] to reserve a bike in your size - we will have sizes 49 - 60cm available. Solo and group ride options will be offered depending on your preference.

These are the current Shoppe-favorite Carbon road bikes featuring Shimano 105 Di2 (2 x 12) systems and recently redesigned framesets.

We are excited to get some folks out to enjoy them as the first installment of our 2024 "Alt-Calendar".

Please note that our Downtown Shoppe is CLOSED for all PSU Home Game Saturdays.

Well folks, it's that time of year again and we are once again choosing to be CLOSED at our Downtown Shoppe on ALL PSU Home Football Game Saturdays!

Last year we all appreciated separating ourselves from the madness and going on bike rides with our customers and friends instead.

Here is a preview of our "Alt-Calendar" for September and October:

The first home game is Sat 9/7 and we are excited to be hosting our own Orbea Orca Demo Day! This event will be by reservation and several sizes of Orbea Orca M30i available to ride from the Linden Hall School House. HUGE THANKS to Len and Chad Rockey for making this happen!

9/21 is a Mixed Surface ride from Burnell Rd. Park to Tussey Mountain Outfitters in Bellefonte via the Spring Creek Canyon rail trail. Pizza, refreshments and Creekside hangs will be provided.

10/5 will be a few different Rothrock Mixed Surface rides from the Tussey Ski Area Lodge.

Please note our new start time of 6pm in the Tussey Lodge Parking Lot. We'll ride for 2 hours with plenty of stops to re-group and take in the scenery.

Afterwords, join us for a snack & refreshments at the Tussey Bar - word is the new patio area is a nice place to relax after a ride or hike...they are open until 9pm.

In other Gravel-related news, we are super excited to offer a new bike to the Shoppe - welcome the OTSO Warakin Steel!

We are stocking these fine Steel frame/Carbon fork bikes complete with Shimano GRX 600 1 x 12 kits for $2,800 each. Sizes 49, 52, 54, 56 & 58 are pictured here, each with a custom picked color of Wolftooth Headset and extra bits. Test rides are encouraged any day we are open!

The FTC Wednesday Night Gravel ride sees a change of venue tonight, 07.24.24, to the far side parking lot of Coyler Lake.

Join us at 7pm for a sub 2 hour ride on the surrounding Gravel roads. A Gravel-capable bicycle, helmet, lights and your very best PMA are the strict posted requirements.

After the ride we'll take some paddle boards out until the sun is fully down.

As an added bonus, our good friends from Rothrock Outfitters will be joining us!

Ye Olde Freeze + Thaw Cycle Shoppe of State College, Penna. is super excited to announce the arrival of the new Orbea Diem 30!

We are stocking Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large of this futuristic Electric-Assist bike for $3,899 each.

The Shimano STEPS systems on the Diem feature a 28 MPH limit as compared to our other offerings that max out at 20 MPH. Integrated lights, sturdy fenders and Shimano CUES 1 x 9 drivetrains are notable highlights. Test rides are encouraged!

Our section of Allen Street is still closed for construction, but the portion below us in front of Appalachian Outdoors has limited on-street parking. Or simply use one of the surrounding parking garages and walk over to pay us a visit.

It seemed appropriate to show off this last remaining 49cm Salsa Journeyer Apex 1 (700c) that we have on SALE for $1,600 (originally $1,850).

This is certainly the smallest production frame we've had access to. We are happy to swap the wheelset to 650b for anyone interested at no extra charge, just ask.
