Does your little one have a hard time getting a haircut? We have heard all too many times the fear, sensory-overload, and challenges sitting still, all make for a rather traumatizing experience for parents and the child. We are thrilled to partner with Rebecca to offer this service on July 26th (just in time for those back to school cuts).
This service is designed to create a calming, low-stimulating environment. Rebecca and one of our sensory-specialists will be able to provide loving, 2:1 attention to give your child everything they need during this time.

A little about Rebecca
She is a wife, mother to 2, Statesboro resident, and has hairstylist for almost 7 years now. Her heart is spending time with her little family, serving her church, and enjoying a good book when she can. Rebecca's son has attended speech therapy at Word of Mouth for nearly 2 years now. "I am so grateful for the impact they have made on him and our family, and I am so excited to have a small part in serving their clients."

‘Tis the season of certifications 📚 We are so proud of Mrs. Rachel’s newest certification in NLA (Natural Language Acquisition).
There are two typical ways to acquire language; analytic and gestalt. Analytic acquisition is the ‘more typical’ frame work in which we see children leaning single words (car, dog, mama, etc.) and then combining these words to form eventually form sentences.
A language processing (GLP) is a model of language development that starts with memorizing whole phrases and then moves on to individual words. GLP is based on the idea that information is processed as a whole, rather than as a sum of its parts. For example, a child with GLP might think of “I’ll be back” as a single chunk, rather than recognizing the individual words that make it up. These chunks are sometimes called “echolalia” or “scripts”.
Mrs. Rachel has been blowing our minds with new ways to address GLP in treatment. 💥 We can’t wait to see her put her this amazing knowledge to use!
These guys did us proud at the Pull for Kids. It was full of fun and fellowship!
