Did you know that May is the month to celebrate speech language pathologists (SLPs) and all of the amazing services they provide?
Here are a few things you may not have realized about SLPs!
🌟Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) provide services for adults with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders, including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, voice disorders, and cognitive-communication disorders.
🌟SLPs tailor therapy plans to each client’s specific needs, taking into account factors such as the severity of the disorder, personal goals, and individual strengths and weaknesses.
🌟Therapy techniques used by SLPs are based on the latest research and evidence-based practices to ensure the most effective outcomes for clients.
🌟SLPs often work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
🌟Speech-language pathology services are not limited to specific age groups; adults can receive support and therapy throughout their lives to address communication and swallowing challenges.
Has an SLP helped you or a family member overcome challenges? Let us know in the comments!
We can’t let pass by without introducing our newest team addition, Abbey. We’re so excited to collaborate with her!

🌟World Parkinson’s Day is observed on April 11th each year to honor the birthday of Dr. James Parkinson, the British physician who first identified the disease in 1817. His work, “An Essay on the Shaking Palsy,” remains a landmark in the understanding of Parkinson’s disease.
🌟World Parkinson’s Day aims to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease, its impact on individuals and families, and the ongoing research efforts to find better treatments and a cure. It serves as an opportunity for communities worldwide to come together to support those living with Parkinson’s.
🌟Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement. It is estimated that around 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease. The prevalence of Parkinson’s increases with age, but it can also affect younger individuals.
🌟Parkinson’s disease is characterized by symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, impaired balance, and slowness of movement. In addition to motor symptoms, individuals with Parkinson’s may also experience non-motor symptoms such as depression, cognitive changes, and sleep disturbances, which can significantly impact their quality of life.
🌟World Parkinson’s Day encourages advocacy efforts to improve access to care, support services, and research funding for Parkinson’s disease. Organizations, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and individuals affected by Parkinson’s come together on this day to raise their voices, share stories, and advocate for greater awareness and support for the Parkinson’s community.
We are honored to be a small part of support of our community of people with Parkinson’s Disease. We see you, we support you, and we are here for you!
