When the person managing your social media constantly requests photos, you get creative and start sending images that are sort of what they asked for but with a humorous twist. With people like that, there’s never a dull moment—work is always filled with laughter.

I recently asked for pictures of their dogs, and among the real dog photos they sent in, there was also this gem: a lineup of stuffed dogs! They took these plush pups along for the ride, and it added a delightful touch of humor to the mix. Sometimes, it’s the quirky moments like these that make work truly enjoyable.

As surveyors, we often work in diverse and natural landscapes where we might cross paths with some incredible creatures, including snakes. Here’s how understanding their behavior can be beneficial:

Diverse Species: Just as every surveying project has its unique challenges, each snake species brings its own set of characteristics. From the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake to the harmless King Snake, recognizing their patterns and habits helps us navigate our work safely and effectively.

Peak Activity: During the summer, especially in August, snakes are more active. As surveyors, being aware of their activity patterns can help us stay alert and avoid surprises while in the field.

Safety First: Just as we use precise instruments to ensure accurate results, it’s important to be cautious and respectful of wildlife. Always watch where you’re stepping, and give snakes plenty of space. They’re an essential part of the ecosystem and deserve our respect.
