OSU HORT and LA Alumni - We are planning a party! Please share everywhere! It will be a time to see old friends, network with other green industry folks in the OKC area, and raise funds for the Landscape Management Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $40 each and include dinner and we are also selling sponsorships/ads in the program for $250 (includes 4 tickets) so please sponsor the dinner yourself or talk to your bosses or the businesses you deal with and get them to sponsor. Students get Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off for Thanksgiving. We wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to wherever your Thanksgiving celebration will be!

Arboriculture students learned to operate a stump grinder and skid steer today. How fun is that?!

The OSU NALP Club will host presentations by Kadie Griffin and Phillip Fisher on Thursday, October 15th at 5:30 p.m. In 105 Ag North. Kadie will provide hints and tips on getting a job and Phillip will talk about Ryan Lawn and Tree, the company he works for. Everyone is invited!!

We have seen 20 excellent internship seminars in the past week! Our students are taking advantage of wonderful opportunities!

Horticulture alum Don Tichards will visit campus and our department tomorrow and Friday. He will participate in a panel discussion tomorrow evening at 5:30 in the Student Union Little Theatre. The discussion is titled "Oh the Places You May Go" and highlights 3 CASNR alums who have had amazing opportunities in their careers. Come join us!!

5th year LA student Park(info) Day projects. Sorry, I do not know exactly who was involved in each project, but all of them are great!

Friday is Parking Day. We are looking forward to seeing the transformation of parking spaces into parks for a day!

The Turf and Ornamentals Field Day is tomorrow (Tuesday) from 9 a.m. To 3 p.m. At The Botanic Garden. We hope to see you there!

Make sure you check out the CASNR Career Fair tomorrow between 12:30 and 4:30 at Gallagher-Iba. The employers are looking for well qualified individuals to fill internship and career positions. After the Career Fair, we will have an informal meet and greet over pizza for students to have some informal time to visit with employers. Join us at The Hideaway at about 5:30 for this event!!

The first PLANET Meeting of the semester is this Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:30 p.m. in 105 Ag North. Students of any major are welcome and we would welcome all new members!

The awards program in cancelled today!! We have no electricity at the Educational Building and lots of tree damage due to this morning's storm.
