Yes, it’s time to start thinking of fall and Halloween. These adorable postcards just arrived from the printer, and they are so much fun. Using images from our vintage and antique collections we’ve reproduced some of our favorites, with some enhancements. Now available in a set of 16, or individually. They work well with our 5 x 7 layers as well.

Still going through ends and scraps. I decided to put all of the “not enough for a bolt”, nylon netting into one bag, and offer up to one lucky person who gets to it fastest. Check it out on the shop.

We are so, so excited to be able to carry Liberty of London Tana Lawn, the silk of cotton. My description anyway. This fabric is super fine, soft cotton worthy of a “Gone with the Wind gown”, I swear I heard Scarlet mention this. The prints are timeless and recognizable. From their “in house” artists design, to William Morris from the 19th century, even prints from Bridgerton. We currently have 25 bolts of Liberty Tana Lawn in stock, and will be adding to this collection as time goes by.

Crumpled crepe alert!! We’ve put up a few more packs of crumpled and faded Dennison crepe paper. More flower colors than before. Get them before they are gone!

Most every day, an idea takes me down a rabbit hole. A few years ago, I purchased some small cotton flowers from a family company in Germany as samples, with the intent to re-design my “Card of the Month Kits”. These flowers are super bright, which I thought would be perfect for my August kits. But then I thought it would be better if they were faded a bit, more “end of summery”. So I decided to set them outside in the sun for a while. I checked the weather and there was no rain in sight. After an hour or so, I thought I heard some rumblings of thunder. Yes, yes I did, and some drops of rain came down, yes, on the flowers. Before much damage could be done, I grabbed the cardboard flat they were in, but they did get a little wet. The dye was dripping off where the drops fell. The flowers were still intact, being made from a heavier cotton material, so I wasn’t too worried.

While the flowers were drying, I had a thought that maybe a better way to soften the color would be to run them under water. I could try doing that on one bunch and see what happens. So I did. A lot of dye came out as I passed the bunch under the streaming water. Even after I set them on paper towels to dry, the dye still came out. The color is softer, diluted I would say, but maybe not faded. I think I will do them all.

As I’m going through my fabric stash, I see themes coming through. So I am letting the fabric show me where it wants to go. It’s a slow process, but very satisfying. These 2 collections focus on a lovely rural French theme. The first one in deeper reds and olive greens. The second one adds more pinks and greener greens. Both have substantial pieces, not little bias strips, of vintage and new fabrics, vintage trimmings, and buttons.

Our vintage fabric stash runneth over. It took forever, but we have a couple of collections available now, with more in the works. These are perfect for any slow stitching collages or sewing projects. Collections inspired by the colors of one or two of the fabrics. A joy to curate, but time consuming. Limited quantities.

Just arrived from Europe, are 2 stunning prints in organic cotton. At 55” wide you can do a lot more with less yardage. The first one is a poplin, the second is a dreamy voile. Available by the half yard, as with most of our fabrics. Organic fabric has come a long way.

We decided that with so many ribbons and trims, we needed to add more fabrics and sewing patterns to our shop. Mainly because we think our beautiful vintage trims would be amazing applied to clothing. I happened to find the cutest shop today! Rose Mille is an upscale craft store featuring a mindboggling amount of gorgeous vintage millinery/ribbons, paper products and other crafty items. And it's less than 2 miles from my store!! I'm so excited to have somewhere local to shop for vintage lace or little details to add onto my re-designed dresses. I have a couple gowns that have either been stained or ripped and I'm going to try and bring them back to life. If you are a crafty girl and love to get lost in an aisle of beautiful lace - I would highly recommend. Here's a couple vintage items I bought today. So unique! So beautiful!

We’ve turned our vintage postcards into the prettiest cards for Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Thank You’s, and Thinking of You cards. Fully festooned with flowers, Dresden die-cut borders and embellishments, millinery flowers, hand stitched rolled ribbon roses, and glass glitter. And assembled all the goodies into a kit to make 16 cards, with our pretty signature envelopes. ,

We had the best workshop on Saturday, another coming up, with the nicest group of makers. Everyone oooed and awed when the glass glitter was applied to the vintage deer, and the cotton snow. Using their own cherished teacups, they are beautiful works of art. Instant decorations.
