Asti’s Academic Academy

Hi! I’m Asti, the students call me Ms. Nae. I am the owner and lead tutor of Asti’s Academic Academy! We provide academic assistance to families in Stockbridge, GA through tutoring/homework help for students pre-K up to 8th grade. We offer group sessions that consist of no more than 5 students, with similar educational goals to achieve and limited one on one sessions. Tuition ranges from $50-$75 a week with a $45 registration fee.

Transparency Moment 🚨
While mentally preparing to return to the classroom, I was thinking of things I need to complete during pre planning. I purposely rearranged my classroom at the end of the school year to get a jump start on the upcoming year. So I started thinking about what new element I could add to my classroom. I came up with the idea to create a Safe Space/Prayer Corner in my room. Here’s why…..
Last school year there were 2 school shootings that really bothered me.
1. The 6 year old who shot his teacher. When viral teacher/student incidents would happen, I would always say, “That’s why I teach young kids.” Being that I teach 6/7 year olds, there is no way I ever thought I could ever end up in a situation like that.
2. The private, Christian school shooting in Tennessee. This one had me without sleep for 3 days!!!! Because this is the type of school I teach at. Being in this environment gave me a sense of covering and safety. But after that incident, I didn’t feel it until I created a worship experience in the room for myself.
So for the upcoming year, I want to create an environment for students to go to when something is bothering them or when they just need a minute alone. Anxiety is real for kids! I want my students to know and feel they are safe in my classroom!!!
