Unlike the weather lately (currently savoring every moment before it gets hot again) this week's line up features one of my favorite flavor combinations Our Pandan Chocolate Marble Pound Cake (in mini loaf form), Ube White Chocolate Scone with Milk Tea Icing & Our Seasonal Favorite; Browned Butter Pumpkin Coffee Cake. I was incredibly honored to be interviewed & featured by and I got to talk about not only the bakery, but the wonderful, amazing, beautiful, loving & kind community we are fortunate enough to be a part of and be loved so deeply by. This article is my favorite by far, it is a small love letter to Stockton & the community that welcomed us with open arms. A welcome home to a place I didnt know I could & would call home. If you asked me 10 years ago, at the early moments of my career if I could see myself opening up my own bakery in Stockton, my husband's birthplace, a city rich with history of the early manongs & manangs, but somewhere so far from where i was born & raised. I would've laughed and said no way! But life has a funny way of giving you not what you thought you wanted, but what you needed. The move here almost 4 years ago was rough, to be honest, I had only ever lived in San Diego (all over the city & on the outskirts). I never thought I'd leave, but with the pandemic & sky rocketing housing prices, we made the move to Stockton. I dont regret it one bit, I feel incredibly lucky to be loved so deepy by the community and welcomed. San Diego may be where I was born & raised but Stockton is my home, my heart. Thank you all for being here, loving us, cheering us on, supporting us from Day One. Cheers to many many more years and so much more love. We wouldnt be here with y'all. We arent self made, we are community made. This one goes out to Stockton, my family, my friends, the community & little me. Thank you for making my dreams come true. I love you Stockton.

Also, a shout out to the business I talked about in the article thank you for giving me the opportunity to sell my baked goods & share even more with the community. Thank you for all that you do & being an inspiration and being an overall amazing and sweet person, for having the most delicious drinks & for being openly supportive of p@l3st1n3 and sharing yemeni coffee with us all

Bringing back our seasonal pumpkin browned butter coffee cake, pumpkin spice latte scone (guaranteed to have more pumpkin & spice than st@rsucks) with a pumpkin spiced coffee drizzle, our hella maarte bar with layers of pandan shortbread, oreos & ube white chocolate blondie, our housemade pandan pancakes (×2) with toasted coconut & a salted pandan coconut sauce & can't forget our best selling vegan ube cinnamon rolls made with housemade ube mylk bread, brown sugar cinnamon & ube icing.

But with ube funfetti cookies & pandan dip (pandan buttercream) if you love our ube crinkles, you'll no doubt love these (I used the same recipe) we're out here healing our inner child & feeding them snacks we wish we had as kids

I just wanted to thank everyone who has ever ordered a custom cake, cupcakes, or desserts from me. When you support a small business, you support their art, their dream, and the local community.

I understand times are hard right now, and many people are surprised by the cost of custom items, saying, "That's too expensive" or "Oh, I didn't think it would be that expensive." We know we're not within everyone's budget, but our prices reflect the time, effort, and quality we put into our work. Like everyone, we have to cover living expenses and business costs like ingredients, vendor fees, packaging, business insurance, licenses, and permits. The entrepreneur life is difficult and often unstable, but we put our hearts into everything we make.

Our products are a luxury, perfect for gifts, celebrations, or treating yourself. Unlike big retailers, everything we make is from scratch. As a one-woman shop with 10+ years of experience, I spend 8-10 hours a day baking, decorating, and managing the business. This isn’t Walmart or Amazon – it's personal, it's art, and it’s my passion.

I understand if my creations aren't in your budget, and that's okay. But please be kind and say, "Thank you, but it's not in my budget at this time." Comments like "I didn't think it would be that expensive" diminish the time, effort, and skill I put into my work.

All in all, please be kind. We are all struggling.

My favorite desserts I've done so far this year. A true honor to have been asked to do these by .c for their housewarming. Rainbow swirl cheesecake bars with Bahay (house) & Buhay (life) in tagalog (written in white chocolate) and pandan strawberry watermelon shaped sugar cookies with cacao nibs to represent summer & for falestin 🇵🇸 🍉

These will definitely go down as some of my absolute favorites due to the intention and meaning behind them. Thank you all for always believing in me, my vision, talent & heart.
