Myofascial Release Physical Therapy

I want to let everyone know that my book, "The Music of Consciousness and The Art of Myofascial Release is being really well received and it is accomplishing my goals for its message. I am definitely more left brained in my navigation of things and I have learned to rely more and more on intuition for the moment by moment guidance in treatment and in my life. Part of the message in my book is my journey from a deductive emphasis to experiencing life as an art.

Next year I am planning a treatment road trip. I am making myself available to treat therapists, offer intensives, and possibly do doubles with clients if therapists would like some training. And if there is interest offer a 2 day clinic on techniques taught in my video series at www.mfrtv.com and demonstrate dialog and energetic methods. I hope to set up a schedule where I can treat for a week in various locations and make stops in such a way that I can make a loop around the US.

I charge $240 an hour on the road. I don’t charge for lodging if I have a place to stay or if there are at least 20 sessions scheduled for the week. I require ½ down to reserve a spot since I need to commit to a route to make this work. I hope to have this set up by September.

I find that scientific language can describe spiritual principles in ways that are free from traditional assumptions. It is true that fundamentalist interpretations of science can lead to scientism, but if we are aware that any language-based description, even if it is scientific, is a reduction, we can be free of the need to have the “right” description.

There is a saying that energy flows in the path of least resistance. It would be more accurate to say that energy flows in any path open to it, but it flows in greater amplitude in paths that have less resistance. You can see this with a lightning strike where there is a large central flow with branches going off laterally. You can observe this with water flowing down the mountain where there is a large central flow where it has a greater opening, with small eddy currents branching out in other available openings.

The principle of resistance can apply to the basic principles of treatment in myofascial release. We treat where it is hot, hard, or tender. Electrical energy produces heat where it encounters resistance. Resistance to feeling emotions can cause muscles to contract and harden. When the flow of fluid encounters resistance it creates pressure, which can cause pain when that pressure pushes on nerves. If the resistance is great enough fluid filled cavities can create hardened areas in the body.

In my last post I talked about the power of surrender. Surrendering is a way to decrease resistance and allows energy to flow. Energy is always wanting to flow and will continue to build up against resistance until the barrier breaks. We can see this when water is rushing down a mountain. It eventually overflows any barrier and can break the dam.

When barriers break in the body, we call that disease because it creates pain and inflammation. Too often we look at healing as building the barrier back up, when reducing resistance to the flow of energy would take the pressure off, soften the area, and remove the pain. Pain is our check engine light. Disconnecting the check engine light doesn’t make the underlying problem go away.

And we so often ignore the check engine light by using pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, and muscle relaxers exclusively. As John has said many times myofascial release treats the underlying cause.

Resistance is much less in crystalline structures because the molecules are lined up reducing the collisions of electrons or photons traveling through the tissue. As we have recently found, one of byproducts of the heat produced during a release is the forming of liquid crystal water in the area being treated. This also has the effect of allowing energy to more freely move through the body allowing the clearing of toxins and providing a connection with our environment as we come into harmonic resonance with the living things around us.

This harmonic resonance provides life force, information for our intuition, and awakens us to the sensation of being. This allows us to live in a state of wonder and gratitude.
