Today’s weather is sunny with a chance of training. This morning a few of our new members trained with deploying ladders. Ladder commands are given for each movement to ensure both members know what steps are happening (or about to happen).
Communications in the fire service is important. Crews used radios to try and relay directions to build a #lego kit. This skills reminded members that you need to think of what you want to other person to do, and find the way to describe what they want accomplished. Their goal, was to build a Lego chick!
Video sent to us from the three alarm fire in 10/9/2022. This is the rear of the building prior to the Fire Department arrival. Fire doubles in size every sixty seconds.
Did you see the Massachusetts State Police helicopter flying low over town today? MSP "Air 5" landed behind the fire station today! Students in the Jr. Police academy were able to tour the helicopter and ask the troopers about different features. Firefighters staged Engine 18 at the landing zone and learned about ways that the state police could assist during search and rescue.
