As some of you know and others may have heard, we are closing shop. This was not an easy decision and is bittersweet at best.

Our business was based on passion and integrity. There was not good, better, or best. Good wasn't good enough. Better or best were the objectives.

Goals were based on customer experiences, not financial benchmarks.

I cannot thank all the people who have supported us enough. It really means a lot to us that you put your faith in our shop.

Wednesday, 10/31 will be our last day of operations. If you're in town, please stop by and have a beer with us and let us thank you in person.

10/10/2018

The shop will be closed this afternoon in celebration of the last day of summer.

1999 Bike Shop Owner Wanted For Sale 06/21/2018

In 1998 Hardy Avery and Dana Jordan started Irie Cycles, a little hole in the wall shop that became the cornerstone of the Stowe mountain bike scene. When I moved to Vermont in 2002 I was perplexed by the guys who rode with low seats, big forks, no shirts, and had Red Bull tabs in the dozens. I grew to like the guys and the scene and when it became evident in 2006 we were going to lose our shop, I decided to step up and keep it going. I couldn't, and still can't, imagine town without the shop. After 11 years though, I'm ready to pass the torch to the next guy or gal. So if keeping the shop alive means as much to you as it did to me, let's talk. In the mean time, we're going to keep you guys rolling like we always have. Thank you all for your support, we truly appreciate it.

-Paul

11/03/2017

Well, if you haven't heard the news, here it is. Cady Hill was on the business end of a major wind storm on Sunday. Initial reports were bad, more detailed reports are even worse. Trails are closed until Spring.

11/3/17 Update: First off, huge thanks to everyone for the outpouring of support and willingness to pitch in with the clean up effort. Until spring, the best thing we can all do is stay out of Cady Hill. I know, I know, it seems all backwards but here's why: we're working on hiring a timber harvester who will work under the direction of a professional forester to salvage as much of the fallen timber as possible. These pros can also help ensure all of the danglers and widow-makers are removed safely by a pro.

So for the timber harvesters to be most effective, it's best for the trees / debris to be full length / uncut. Firewood-size rounds are no good to a logger (or so I hear). But more importantly, it's just insanely dangerous out there right now. Once the ground freezes the loggers can get in and do their thing, but until then, it's best we all save our energy for the spring when the cleanup effort will shift back to the MTB community.

So please help us spread the word: steer clear of Cady Hill and any attempt to help clean up / cut debris, however well intentioned, is not only super dangerous but is also detrimental to the overall cleanup efforts.

Again, a heartfelt thanks to all of the amazing people in this far-reaching community. Say it with me: We will rebuild!
