This or that bathroom? Most homes have the general makeup we expect in a bathroom, a sink, a bathtub 🛀, a shower, and a toilet. The makeup of a bathroom is a purely functional space. Anyone will tell you that no two bathrooms are the same, despite the requirements for the functionality. Our individuality and the endless aesthetics we implement can entirely change the appeal of a bathroom. So what invites us into a bathroom space?

Aesthetically Pleasing
The sky truly is the limit when it comes to what we interpret as an aesthetically pleasing bathroom. It can come down to the designs implemented throughout, as well as the colors used for decorating.

Atmosphere
Not to be outdone is the atmospheric impression of the room. As the palette, and decorations of the room together, create an ambiance in the bathroom, our other senses, like the smell, can leave a significant lasting impression. Having scented oils or air fresheners contributing to a pleasing aroma 👃 will have all our thoughts in relaxed mode.

Lighting
Although natural light may be the best solution, it is not always part of the bathroom design. You can replicate natural lighting with endless faux lighting options, which can further enhance your experience in the bathroom, saving your eyes from the unflattering and unnatural lighting.

Functionality
Functionality is a significant factor when we decide if a bathroom is up to our standards. The bathroom serves a purpose, and equipment is necessary for that best possible experience. Shower and tub combos can provide space-saving solutions to those who want the best of both worlds 🌏.

These contributing factors can create the best possible bathroom experience we need. Our indifference is what makes one bathroom pleasing to me and the other bathroom favorable to you. That is what makes the process of decorating our bathrooms in our unique styles that ensures our creativity is almost unmatched by anyone else, helping create endlessly standout bathrooms that we can adore and appreciate.

5 Things To Do Before Painting

Taking on a painting project, whether an entire room or just a hallway, will always require the same steps. The goal is to create the look we want while limiting the disastrous consequences of not being prepared. We can talk about how to prepare a painting plan for any project!

1. This step can be numbered one or number four. My first thought is, you want to paint a space because you have been inspired 💡. Meaning, you probably have already been browsing colors and sheen. Before you purchase any large volumes of paint, it is advised you buy samples of your favorite paints for a color and sheen test on the surface you are revamping. Make sure to mention to the clerk what or where you are painting. They will recommend the best sheen for that space, helping reduce fingerprints or the appearance of dirt. Now we can head back to the area you want to paint!

2. It is time to clean and prep the intended area. Remove any obtrusion from the surface. That could mean a picture held up by a hook, or shelving, or even molding. The entire surface you want to paint should be completely free of everything. Next, you can scrub the surface of any dirt or debris. Inspect, and repair any cracks or holes you find, ensure the surface is uniform, and all sanding and preparations are complete. Using appropriate PPE (personal protection equipment), you can tape off the area to ensure you do not accidentally paint anything you are not revamping with your selected color. Don’t forget to protect your flooring from drips or spills! Once the prep is complete, you can measure the entire surface of the project. Most projects will require a formula to calculate the surface area you want to paint. If multiplication isn’t your favorite, there are plenty of online calculators that can help you correctly determine the square footage 👣 of the space. Save this information for after you test your samples and choose your favorite! That number will aid you in figuring out the quantity of paint you will need for the project.

3. Time to go back to the store to collect everything you need! Ask for help to determine the correct volume of paint you need for the project. As well as any special brushes 🎨 or rollers you may require. Make sure you make one trip and have everything you need before you begin!

4. Set up your workstation, even if that is an old blanket on the floor. Having all your supplies and tools readily available will help the project move smoothly, as you make fast work of your project!

5. Don’t rush it! Take your time and use smooth motions to paint your project. Make sure that you do not use an excessive amount of product! It could potentially ruin your entire surface with unsightly paint runs or uneven coverage. Once you have steadily progressed and completed your painting project safely and efficiently, you can step back and relish in admiration 💓 of the revitalized project you mastered!

What do you think of neutral colors versus bright colors? A common misconception about neutral colors is that they represent a dull decor choice. Neutral color schemes help the room feel calm. Bold colors are known to increase agitation or restlessness. Having a neutral backdrop in your home can open the door for other style possibilities that an adventurous color may not.

Blank Canvas
The opportunity of a neutral palette in your home allows you to enlist the help of other decor pieces to reflect your personality and style throughout the room. Introducing designs within the space using bold fabrics with bright colors or patterns, and adding textural components, can help portray your sense of style. You can also display finishing’s in a standout 👣 manner, helping focus the eye on all your design choices that make the room your space. Having a blank canvas allows you to switch out your bold design pieces easily. Which creates an entirely new and updated look!

Timeless Look
The absolute one thing we all can agree on is the timeless ⏳ elegance of a neutral room. It’s like doing it right and doing it once. You can change pieces to update the look, but the calming neutral backdrop will never go out of style! Your bold, s**g rug just might.

Consider skipping the trends to repaint your room in burnt orange, and instead, opt for burnt orange curtains. Let’s not forget, we don’t want to be repainting 🎨 a room every year as fads come and go! Replacing smaller items that require much less work will save you money and having to roll up your sleeves!

What do you look For in a home? Our individuality allows us the privilege of personal preference. When it comes to what we look for in a home, we all will have a different wish list. We develop our unique styles within the house. Choosing what we require will come down to what the home 🏡 offers and how it can benefit our lives. What do I mean? Let’s explore the factors and some solutions!

Children
Having children can impact your decision on whether a home is suitable for your family. Ensuring children have their space will add to positive cognitive development and the physical well-being of the child! Other requirements may be fencing to ensure children can safely explore their yards without the added dangers of unconfined play spaces.

Accessibility
Having a disability and exploring available housing options will have the future homeowner diligently seeking out the most compatible space that accommodates their disability. It is ideal to find a home that is already suitable for the requirements of an individual. Which can help save time and money 💲 for any upgrades necessary for optimal well-being and functionality of the individual.

Comfort
Our obvious requirement will be the comfort of the home, as we adjust the space to our preferences. However, we do consider the size of things like the kitchen and bedrooms in the decision process. We want the house to have the contentment of a loving 😍 home when we first lay eyes upon it. We can add many features to create that comfortable feeling we crave.

Functionality
A home is not only where we live, but also where we function and thrive. There are an unspoken set of rules in a home must-have, a kitchen, a bathroom, and bedrooms. Most homes provide even further luxuries for functionality, like a living room, dining room, office, or extra bathrooms. All can contribute to someone’s dream home.

Having a must-have list planned out before your house-hunt can provide you with a better understanding of what you require for your residence. The little details like paint color, or flooring, are easily changed to suit your style and are usually envisioned when you first walk through the door.
