Our church group had a really fun weekend at the Uprise Music Festival! Some great musicians through the weekend like LeCrae, Skillet, Colton Dixon, and Danny Gokey! And to top the weekend off, we went and joined our good friend Pastor Zim Khan for Sunday worship at Gravel Hill! Can’t wait for next year!

God, I sit here in quiet stillness. You already know the challenges I face and the road ahead. I trust in Your plan and wait for it to unfold. Amen

This is the Ground Zero beam.

It was a formation of steel beams underneath the World Trade Center buildings. And when the terrible destruction of the buildings and their workers happened, this beam was amongst the rubble…still standing…in the shape of a cross. A coincidence? Or maybe a message from a loving God trying to comfort His people?

As first responders and others began sifting through the rumble after 9/11, hopeful messages and names to honor were inscribed on the steel. The symbol of Jesus became in that moment, a place of prayer, love, care, and hope for others amidst terrible loss. It became a symbol of hope and courage for the firefighters as they rescued and reconstructed, truly believing that there is good in this world.

As we remember those our country lost on that day and since, remember who we as Christians are meant to be for the world: comforters and messengers of peace in the name of the Lord. Just as Jesus was and still is.
