Through the many years we’ve been open, we’ve held space for many different walks of life, as employees, artists, community members, and clients. Much like the flower itself, The Lotus Room as a being itself continues to grow toward the light regardless of the path it takes to get there. Were you aware that we have a resident Loctitian?

‌A loctitian is the fancy word for ‘stylist’ when it comes to the loc culture. We used to get a good amount of calls for dread maintenance, and one day Tanisha popped up in our DM’s looking for a new hair home. Becca knew immediately that she would fit in but also stand out in the best way and there hasn’t been a moment yet when we haven't seen Tanisha hold herself fully accountable to her craft and her own growth!

She’s incredibly practical in her approach to her client experience and education, simply wanting to spread healthy insight into the world of dreadlocks. She firmly believes they’re for anyone who wants to wear them, and passionate in educating the masses about the misconceptions of wearing dreads.

Tanisha offers both hourly pricing for dreadlock maintenance, as well as package pricing, and a deposit for future appointments feature. She can inspect your scalp with our , assess its needs, and detox your scalp for the ultimate sustainability of wearing your dreads. She can create super fun braid-in loc extensions for any occasion. She can cut pieces off and reattach them if you want. She’ll even weave in fun charms and shells and beads!

And she does so all while having a good time! (And pretty friggin' fast too.)
