Looks great, right? Feels better? Definitely. Swipe right to see "before".
Why is it always disorganized under your sink? One reason - the vertical space is not being used to its capacity. When everything is on one horizontal level, it all mixes together (technical errors). When An Organized Life takes you through the exercise of organizing, teaches you the methodology and then works with you on the perfect product, how to reset, and why labeling is important, the outcome is magic. Call us today for some magic all your own - the magic of feeling organized.

How do you Tupperware ? Are your lids and bottoms always missing or askew? Is your drawer filled - but you can never find a matching set. Time to take back control of that Tupperware drawer. Start by decluttering your collection and getting rid of any containers that are damaged or missing lids. Sort what's left by size and shape to make it easier to stack and store. Have you heard of "underconsumption core", a new trend that's all about embracing simplicity and minimalism. Social media is abuzz about only buying stuff that is needed - prizing quality over quantity. . Iinstead of flaunting luxury goods, social media influencers are promoting their simple, stripped-down lives and sharing how they're finding joy in owning fewer things. Some examples include using every bit of a beauty product, buying reusable packaging, thrifting everything and anything and not spending money on new clothes.

How do you get everyone out the door on time? By being organized yourself (put your oxygen mask on first - be organized before you organize others).

1. Prepare your outfit the night before to save time in the morning.
2. Make a quick and easy breakfast, like overnight oats or a smoothie.
3. Set multiple alarms to ensure you wake up on time.
4. Simplify your morning routine by using multi-purpose products, like a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

You can do it!

Reset! With the kids back and school and the rest of us back to work, and everyone is busy. No time to think, not to mention organize. So how to do start your fall organizing journey? Start by decluttering putting away summer items that you won't need anymore; consider swapping out lightweight summer clothes for warmer fall attire and make sure to store summer shoes and accessories. We also want to start doing something small by preparing our homes for the change in weather by checking heating systems, sealing any drafts, and adding cozy elements like blankets and candles.

Organize your schedule with a CEO routine - know where and when everyone needs to be and how to make this happen with multiple busy schedules.

Organize school supplies. Be on time by knowing where everything is located and easy to get to.

Organize study materials. No excuses for not doing homework when you clear and organize study spaces and materials.

Lastly, take care of yourself by getting enough rest, eating well, and staying active to ensure you can help your kids off to a successful start to the school year.

1. Create rituals
2. Start small
3. Reset to baseline (start with a clean slate)
4. Establish a command center

Essential Tips for a Stress-Free College Move

Moving your child into college is a significant milestone filled with mixed emotions: pride, excitement, and perhaps a bit of sadness. As you prepare for this big transition, a little organization and planning can go a long way in making the move smoother for both you and your child. Here are essential tips for aan stress-free college move in to help you navigate this important step.

Start Early
Begin preparing at least a couple of months before move-in day. Create a checklist of what your child will need, including essentials like bedding, toiletries, and school supplies. Join parent social media groups to find out what works and what pieces you should invest your money on (there are so many options, stay focused). Don’t forget to consider the climate of the college town and any specific items your child may need for their particular dorm setup.

Once your child knows who their roommate(s) will be, encourage them to reach out and discuss what each person is bringing. This can prevent duplicates and ensure that the shared space is utilized efficiently. Items like mini-fridges, microwaves, and printers can often be shared.

Ensure your child knows how to handle emergencies. Share important contact numbers and discuss what to do in case of health issues, security concerns, or natural disasters. Having a plan can provide peace of mind for both you and your child.

Create a Packing List
Start with a comprehensive packing list. Make sure to check your college’s regulations on what is allowed in dorm rooms. Some colleges have restrictions on appliances like microwaves and refrigerators, so it’s important to be aware of these rules.
Break it down into categories such as:

Clothing: Include everyday wear, formal attire, seasonal clothing, and workout gear.
Linens: Sheets, blankets, pillows, a mattress topper and towels.
Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a shower caddy.
Electronics: Laptop, chargers, headphones, and a power strip.
School Supplies: Notebooks, pens, highlighters, and a backpack.
Kitchen Essentials: Microwave, mini-fridge, utensils, and non-perishable snacks.
Room Essentials: Desk lamp, laundry basket, storage bins, and hangers.
Packing & Move-In
Pack strategically, taking into consideration the limited space in dorm rooms. Use under-bed storage containers, collapsible bins, and multi-functional items to maximize space. Label boxes and bags clearly to make unpacking easier. Labeling everything will make unpacking your boxes and bags much easier. Use color-coded labels for different categories, such as clothing, toiletries, and kitchen items.

Arrive early to beat the rush and secure a good parking spot. Many colleges have assigned move-in times to manage the flow of traffic and people, so stick to the schedule provided. Bring a dolly or cart to help with heavy items, and be prepared for a bit of chaos. Take advantage if your school provides move-in assistance.

Emotions & Connection
This transition is as emotional as it is logistical. Acknowledge your feelings and those of your child. It’s okay to feel sad about the change, but also focus on the exciting new opportunities ahead. Plan a fun activity or a nice meal together before saying goodbye to create a positive memory.

Establish communication routines that work for both you and your child. Regular check-ins are important, but also give them the space to grow and navigate their new environment independently. Encourage them to get involved on campus and to seek help if they need it and advocate for themselves.

Moving your child into college is a big step, but with careful planning and open communication, it can be a smooth and rewarding experience. Embrace this new chapter with confidence, knowing that you’ve prepared your child well for the exciting journey ahead. Remember, this is a time for your child to grow and explore. Trust in the foundation you’ve laid and look forward to seeing them thrive in their new environment.

As you prepare for the exciting transition to college life, don’t let the stress of move-in day stress you out. Hiring a Professional Organizer to help you with the process can help ensure a smooth and efficient process, leaving you with more time to enjoy the new chapter.

Start the week off with an organized pantry, especially with lunches to be made every morning for the kiddos.

1. Sort out the expired food; discard
2. Sort out the food that's been sitting on the shelves forever - that no one likes; donate
3. Organize what's left by category
4. Store quick grab items for the kiddos at easy to reach locations and in open baskets to create independence and self-service - store less frequently used items or adult style food higher up.
5. Label those baskets and shelves for ease of storage and retrieval.
