Teams are currently being formed for the fall 2024 softball and baseball season. If you have interest in having your player participate this season, please register immediately, so you can ensure that they will be placed on a team. We are currently accepting players at all age levels. Ages for through 12. We are also looking for players 13 to 16 to potentially juniors level baseball and softball teams. On a field

If youre anything like us, you can't believe how fast the Summer is going. Before we know it, the leaves will start to change and school will be back in session. Now is a great time to get set up for fall activities, and none is better than fall baseball and softball. Lastly, we must thank Mayor Mike Curley, th village board and the village of Suffern for the use of the fields and use of the grills so that we could grill up all the burgers and hot dogs!

It truly is always a team effort and everyone chips in!

Reminder for all those looking for extra work this summer!

Hey All!

As a reminder we are hosting our annual league BBQ and our Home Run Derby for baseball and softball. We know the temps are up there today, so if you come down make sure you're hydrated. The BBQ will start at 6pm. The Softball HR Derby will kick off at 5:30pm, followed by the basbeall HR Derby which starts at 7:30pm. Come down and support our players as they compete for the HR Derby championship!

Due to the high temperatures, we will not be hosting our skills night for our younger players. We will have kickball games and wiffle ball games available for recreational play however.

Here’s a recap from our Majors Rockies in their game representing Suffern in the Tournament of Champions

New City Nationals 7
Suffern Rockies 4

Henry Bonhomme went 4.1 innings striking out 13 batters allowing 0 hits and 1 run. All of the outs recorded during his outing occurred by strikeout.

Kyle Poppe led the Rockies offense going 3 for 3 with an inside the park home run and 2 runs scored. Eamon Nordsvan went 2 for 3. Elliot Rosario had a great day at the plate hitting the ball hard in his 3 at bats. Shane Kelley and Dominic Carelli both pitched in relief and each had a hit as well.

It was a great season for the Rockies who finished up at 11-4 on the year. Winning the league for the second season in a row and claiming the Cucolo Cup.

Congrats to the 2024 Poppe Cup Champion Yankees!!! They came out victorious in a closely fought game against the Phillies. A great season by all four teams this year. Can’t wait to see these players develop into the Majors!

Congrats to the Suffern Tornadoes as they defeated the Lady Mets this past Monday night to move on for a chance at the Minors Division Championship.

Julia P collected three hits in three at bats, as Suffern TORNADOES defeated Suffern Lady Mets 11-7 on Monday at Crotty. Julia P tripled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Suffern TORNADOES jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Amelia G drew a walk, scoring one run, Katilyn P singled, scoring two runs, and Hayden L drew a walk, scoring one run.

Suffern TORNADOES added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Annaleena T drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jade Q doubled, scoring two runs.

McKenna G stepped in the circle first for Suffern TORNADOES. The righty gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Jada F led things off in the circle for Suffern Lady Mets. They gave up four hits and four runs over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Aubrey M appeared in relief for Suffern TORNADOES.

Suffern TORNADOES accumulated 10 hits in the game. Katilyn P, Jade Q, Hayden L, and Annaleena T each drove in two runs for Suffern TORNADOES. Alexandra L paced Suffern TORNADOES with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game. Amelia G, McKenna G, Reagan P, Julia P, and Aria C each stole multiple bases for Suffern TORNADOES. Suffern TORNADOES ran wild on the base paths, tallying 12 stolen bases for the game. Suffern TORNADOES turned one double play in the game.

Suffern Lady Mets collected eight hits in the game. Angie A, Jada F, and Lucy C each collected two hits for Suffern Lady Mets. Jada F, Jade T, and Molly K each drove in two runs for Suffern Lady Mets. Angie A and Jada F each stole multiple bases for Suffern Lady Mets. Suffern Lady Mets stole eight bases in the game. Suffern Lady Mets turned one double play in the game. Suffern Lady Mets were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lucy C made the most plays with four.

Suffern TORNADOES will travel to Minor RED for their next game on Wednesday.

Congrats to our 2024 Cucolo Cup Majors tournament champions, the Rockies!

The Rockies took home the win last night in a competitive game against the Padres to secure the Cucolo cup. The win completes the sweep for the Rockies this season as they were also the 2024 Majors Division regular season champions. Good luck to the Rockies as they go on to play in the Rockland County Tournament of Champions this Saturday at Haverstraw Little League.

This also marks 2 Regular Season championships in a row for the Rockies and for manager Wayne Poppe and Coach Frank Carelli.

Also - I sent this earlier in the week but I wanted to make sure I sent it again….

We have a unique opportunity for our parents and families to contribute to the league at a greater level. Our Board of Directors will be experiencing some turnover in the next 12-18 months. With that turnover, we are looking to fill a few Board seats to help replace those individuals who will be moving on to other volunteer opportunities. I can share firsthand that participating on this Board and ultimately having the honor of being the President of Suffern Little League has been a very rewarding experience. Its one that I will always cherish. Please consider volunteering your time at a greater level and help take the league into the years ahead.

On Friday the lady Mets took on Haverstraw white
A 13 hit attack highlighted by a grand slam by Georgia thornewell with Abby and Georgia scoring 4x each . Jade , Jada, angie and Kylee each having multiple hit games. On the pitching side Jada , Kylee and Molly held the opposition to 2 runs.

On Saturday morning the lady Mets took on the stony point Yankees in the playoffs. A total team combined hitting attack coupled with strong pitching and defense by Lucy turning 2 double plays propelled the lady Mets to a 12-2 win. String relief by Molly and 3 RBI’s by Jada and 4 runs scored by Karly . Grace contributed to the hit total as well.
Great job ladies . They will take on the suffern tornadoes on Monday night .

Owen Kearsy struck out 3 batters in each of the first 3 innings!
By the top of the 5th inning the score was 8-1 Dodgers. Bottom of the 5th The Giants scored 6 runs. With 2 outs Liam Rodriguez got the final out strike out the batter with a man on 3rd to win the game! 😀⚾️

Congrats to the Dodgers for advancing to the next game, and cheers to a great season for the Giants!
