If the date you are looking for does not show as available, that means it has already been booked or I am not available due to a conflict (such as prepping for a market or will be out of town). 🍪 I'm super excited to announce that starting later this fall, I will be teaching beginner cookie decorating classes at the Fort Bend Art Center in historic downtown Rosenberg! (in addition to other locations in the Sugar Land area)

🎨 Sugar cookie decorating is like creating art you can eat! I can't wait to share with you even more plans that are in the works with the Art League of Fort Bend (which has been around for over 50 years!)

📅 I'll be working on my calendar in the next week or so and adding events to my website and Facebook so be on the lookout for updates. I just couldn't wait to share and I hope to see some of you an an upcoming class!

⁉️ FAQ #4: How Long Does It Take to Make Decorated Sugar Cookies?

🕰️ Making decorated sugar cookies takes longer than making your favorite chocolate chip cookies! Depending on the complexity of the design, they normally take anywhere from 2-4 days to make.

🍪 That includes making and baking the cookies, adding the first layer of icing and letting that dry, adding details, etc. and then any additional embellishments like airbrush or painting with edible gold accents for example and allowing each stage to dry in between.

🌬️ Royal icing takes longer to dry than you might think so that's why we bakers can't always make up decorated cookies with a super quick turnaround time.

📅 To ensure your cookie order makes it onto my schedule, it's best to plan at least two weeks in advance.

🤔 Help me choose! I'm planning some upcoming beginner cookie decorating classes and need your help deciding on the theme.

☀️ Now that Hurricane Beryl is behind us, I thought I'd brighten things up by sharing this mandala inspired cookie platter that I made recently for a family gathering.

💙💚💛💜 I LOVE cookie platters when you need to feed a crowd because they make a statement and offer a variety of sizes so there's something for everyone. I definitely learned a few things with this one and that making a mandala design is trickier than it looks -- it's not just dots!
