Our Story

Fort Bend Gastroenterology Associates is one of the most experienced gastroenterology practices in the Houston area, serving the needs of patients since 1983 Established in 1983, Dr. Stanley Stein has recognized the rapid developments in research, has applied applications in his daily practice and has responded to ongoing changes in the healthcare environment to provide his patients with timely, comprehensive, caring and effective treatment.

Dr. Stanley Stein specializes in the practice of Gastroenterology which focuses on the diagnoses and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract ­ the esophagus, stomach, colon, small and large bowel, gallbladder, liver, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), screening/surveillance colonoscopies and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) which includes Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease.

About Us

Our philosophy at Fort Bend Gastroenterology is to provide quality medical care in a timely fashion through effective communication between our patients and my entire team. We believe by working in concert, we will be better suited to aid in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal problems.

We have recently transitioned to electronic medical records and will create an electronic chart that will combine your paper chart with information going forward. This process begins on your first visit after May 17, 2011.

My practice offers Capsule Endoscopy, surveying procedures for the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts along with the esophagus, stomach, proximal small intestine and the colon or large intestine, and we perform biopsies to sample or remove abnormal tissue. Colorectal Cancer is the 3rd most common cause of cancer and cancer related death in the U.S. today, with equal numbers in both males and females. I am a firm believer that by following the screening guidelines for the use of colonoscopy to detect cancers and remove the precursors of cancer (polyps), this devastating disease can be prevented.
