Lunacraft Boats

We have had the Lunacraft 15 Lite out for testing on .

The hull carries a rating of 60hp remote / 30hp tiller. With an older 15hp Yamaha, we were able to achieve a top speed of 23.9 mph.

At its size & weight, the 15 Lite is very nimble on the water. The weather conditions were far from perfect, at 1-2 ft chop on the open lake. Despite that, the hull was quite comfortable without excessive pounding and minimal spray. The deadrise at the bow did its job in combination with the rolled gunnel.

With power trim and some minor weight placement adjustments, we are confident that 25mph+ is achieveable with even a 15hp.

Empty mold vs gelcoated and skin coated mold. 3 oz / 90 mils of chopped fiberglass with 100% epoxy novolac Vinylester resin and 1708 reinforcement on high stress areas.

Almost done! We’re still currently experimenting with accessory design & placement, but we’re >95% of the way there.
