The Freeze of Summerville

Our Story...

The Tastee Freez of Summerville was built and first opened 48 years ago in 1971. Mr. Bill purchased the Tastee Freez in 1984 and celebrates his 35th anniversary this year.

Located directly across the street from the Summerville High School, the Tastee Freez is no stranger to students, faculty, staff and the Summerville community. The restaurant serves a lot of customers, many of whom have been coming to the Freez for decades. “Year after year we welcome thousands of family members including many students who we watched grow up, graduate and return years later with their own families.” Mr. Bill considers it a privilege knowing that first, second, third and even fourth generations have walked through his doors.

His love of children, dream of owning his own business and the fact that he was not quite ready to settle down after retiring from the Air Force, made purchasing the Tastee Free a no brainer. With every entrepreneurial enterprise there are always ups and downs, but the business has remained strong, the community loyal and most importantly watching the looks on the children’s faces as they walk through the door...priceless!

The menu is packed with customer favorites, including the Big T Burger, all natural ice cream cones, Freezee’s and milk shakes to name a few, and our most popular food item…the footlong hotdog.
